Hi angcat,
While I do worry about the possibility of another major attack, I wouldn't cancel vacation plans or anything like that. I would be more alert and attentive to what's going on around me, but please don't cancel vacation plans.
Life is an ever changing balancing act. We've got to be aware of the terrorist threats, but we all have to go about the business of living too.
For me, the balance part is going to work and living my life as always while getting supplies together and staying vigilant. It truly is a balancing act.
If you've got supplies, information, and plans that's about the best you can do in this situation.
As for taking your vacation, just bring your 3-day kit with you, go and have fun.

I shall vacation. I will take my supplies with me! Canceling would disappoint and scare my daughter and I would never want to do that.
