Rest in Peace, President Reagan
I just got back from my drill weekend and found out President Reagan is dead. I feel like someone dropped a ton of bricks on my heads.
He was the President to some, but to me he will always be the Commander in Chief I served under during the last phases of the Cold War. We who served under him loved him dearly. He was almost a part of the family to us.
I know he will be welcomed in Heaven as one of the greats. Millions live in freedom now because of him.
I wish him Godspeed, fair winds and following seas.
So very sad to lose him, but we did lose him long ago and I am so grateful he no longer must suffer. The day he announced his Alzheimer's and his sadness over it, Nancy put it the best, about the long road ahead. Bump to a great man who said Clinton could not possibly be like Jefferson, because Ronnie 'knew' Jefferson -smile-
