KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - Tens of American, European and other hostages were released Sunday and a gunman believed to be the lead Islamic militant holding them was arrested, a Saudi security official said, adding that two other gunmen were "in the process of being arrested."

--Those so unaccustomed with and incredulous toward any hint of community, mutual respect and love, mutual caring and cupport, mutual understanding and empathy . . . that they are terrified of it and compulsively feel constrained to try and destroy it so they are no longer challenged to rise to that level of interpersonal comaraderie and unity;

--Those who chronically, habitually seem to delight in a gritchy sort of way, in getting up faithfully on the wrong side of the bed--and who then seem to glory in gritching their way through their days spreading dischord and emotional mayhem far and wide;

--Those who chronically and deliberately 'forget' to take their meds so they have a 'good' excuse to be miserable, disagreeable, gritchy, ornery, obstreperous, and otherwise obnoxious as their only shred of recreation;

--Those who are so unfamiliar with cooperative harmony as to break out in paranoid hives within 50 feet of it and who then feel duty bound as though grasping for the survival of their construction on reality as a chronic stage full of PREDATOR/TERMINATOR/DIE HARD contingencies--and consequently see themselves as duty bound to shred the cooperative harmony so that they feel life has again returned to it's routinely excruciatingly destructive chaotic 'normal' state.

--Those who simply delight in going around in a chronically p*ssed off state and who feel out of sorts unless and until they've succeeded in getting everyone around them to join them in their poisonous emotional state;

--Those who simple feel terminally insecure unless and until all around them submit and conform to their constructions on reality, the universe and their own unique, usually at least a little twisted notions of right and wrong.

--Those who never graduated from the 2 year old stage of arriving on the scene of playmates building elaborate constructions out of blocks, Tinker Toys or Lincoln Logs--and not feeling the least bit satisfied or comfortable until the whole construction project had been demolished and the playmates were wailing in frustration, pain and dismay.

We may not hit the abuse button right away. But we will gang up on you and tell you in the most clear and persistent terms that such disruptive behaviors, attitudes, words and posts will simply not be tolerated on this thread.

You can probably get along well on this thread if you kindly, humbly, respectfully, maybe humorously and cooperatively contribute something informative; a thought provoking perspective; a productive question; affirmations; creative queries; applause; something that enhances or expands understanding . . . of the THREAT MATRIX assaulting our Republic, our world, our families and lives.

Rock throwers, whiners, pissy/moany yeah-butters may similarly get the cold shoulder and eventually the left boot of fellowship.

DUBAI: Al Qaeda in a purported Internet statement said the group was determined to rid the Arabian peninsula of "infidels". The voice on the tape vowed 2004 would be "bloody and miserable for infidels". Saudi commandos on Sunday freed dozens of foreign hostages from militants in Khobar who earlier killed at least 17 people. An earlier statement by the Qaeda group claimed the attack which raised the stakes in a battle the world's biggest crude exporter has fought against the network for a year. The Qaeda statement said one of the militants escaped while "heroic martyr" Nimr bin Suhaj al-Baqmi was killed by police. According to experts opinion, oil prices in international markets may suffer fluctuation but wouldn’t effect the oil supply. Saudi government spokesman announced that Saudi government is determined to eradicate terrorism. The meeting of OPEC will be held on Thursday in Beirut to discuss oil prices and supply following the terrorist attack in Saudi oil city Khobar.

I don't think the "cliques" are as pronounced or even as rigid in their membership as you seem to think they are.

It's natural for the very similar and like minded to have an affinity for one another and mutually support one another.

There's still an enormous amount of fair-mindednes and grace available hereon.

I think at some point, harping on a matter is probably worse than the original offense.

It's not a perfect place. But it's one of the closest to perfect long term goal directed threads and phenomenas I know of on the net and on FR.

IT'S CERTAINLY WORTH PROTECTING IN AS MUCH DIVERSITY AS POSSIBLE--WITH ALL OF YOU PARTICPATING, GRACIOUS MEMBERS.

Right on Quix! Now, let's re-group and re-focus on the mission. We know that the terrorists always give a warning. Apparently it is required in their "religion" Hopefully we still have some researchers who will be looking for any warnings - specific or otherwise. I assume we are all well prepared i.e. food, medical supplies, etc and have contingency plans for evacuation or hunkering down. Another trigger may be an assassination or attempted assassination.
