There are many strange things happenining at the same time.
One cannot dismiss the convergance of these things as mere coincidence.

I agree. I don't dismiss anything I read on this thread either. In fact, I'd like some answers on the Washington State meteor myself. I just thought his use of the fruit loop phrase and the fact that he's putting forth his scenario on the heels of that disaster movie,was kind of amusing.
I vote for Froot Loop. I even read this with my tin foil hat on and it just doesn't add up. He is not the first intelligent, "credible" person who has ended up taking a mental nose-dive. Remember the highly regarded professor in Calif. who damaged her own car and claimed she was a victim of a hate crime? What about the Uni Bomber? Wasn't he an intelligent person. What about that super smart, popular college student who faked her own abduction (twice!) recently. Who knows why these folks do these things. He appears to be very angry and unstable. On one hand he is telling us we are all going to die... but then he rants on about martial law, etc. If we are all going to die what does it matter if martial law is declared. Maybe he's mad at the "authorities" who won't fund his research, etc. Just my opinion. If I'm wrong I'll buy all of you guys a new Corvette. *wink*

That's what I thought. I'm not a geologist and I know very little about earthquakes but at 2:39 AM PDT this morning there was a quake in Washington state. Not sure how unusual that seismic reading is though - around volcanos you have quakes often.
That may be perfectly normal activity. Anyway, here are the seismic readings:

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Steve Kurtz's artworks look more like science projects than museum pieces. They offer social commentary along with objects such as corn plants and bacteria-filled petri dishes.
"It's not pictures on the wall," said Adele Henderson, head of the art department at the University at Buffalo, where Kurtz teaches.
And it's certainly not terrorism, the artist's friends say.
Last month, agents from the Joint Terrorism Task Force cordoned off and searched Kurtz's house after police who been called to his home to investigate his wife's death became alarmed when they found biological materials.
