Okay, I admit, this is pretty off the wall. Your post from the jihad forum where the "picture is overturned" "left is right", etc.

Remember the threat (way back when) where they stated N.Y., D.C., Las Vegas. New York City latitude is 40 degrees, D.C. latitude is 38, Las Vegas is 36.

In the continental U.S. what is opposite (left is right): Opposite of N.Y. (40 degrees) is actually not much :-) Susanville and Redding, CA are both 40 degrees. Marysville, CA is 39.10 degrees and that is where Beale AFB is located. I do not know what else is there (ports, power stations,etc.). I just don't know.

Opposite of D.C. (38 degrees) is Sacramento, CA (38 degrees) which is also where McClellan AFB is, also (obviously) CA state capitol. San Francisco is 37.75 degrees.

Opposite Las Vegas (36 degrees) is Greensboro and Winston-Salem, N.C., both thick with muslims and mosques, I believe. Norfolk, VA (we all know major military) is also listed at 36 degrees.

Just putting the wild brain storm out there.

Ack! I have been drinking Stroh's beer this week to help dull tooth pain. Should I induce a vomit or is it too late?!

This is kind of interesting or I'm just sleepy.

Most of their sales are beer and cigarettes, but the brothers say they don't indulge because they are Muslims. Besides, Steve says, he has seen what liquor and drugs have done to many of their customers and to former classmates, friends and neighbors.

The brothers grew up mostly in the Bayview, on Third Street, facing the Star Market, in an apartment above somebody else's store. They say they haven't had problems fitting into the black neighborhood. They don't consider themselves white but "other,'' says Billy, who has "Palestine" tattooed on his arm, in honor of his ethnicity.

I believe Jill mentioned it on here and a possibly at her site yesterday or the day before. It was speculation on her part as to what/where the next attack might be.

A B-36 Bomber drops a nuclear weapon from 8,000 ft. over the Pacific Ocean before crashing after experiencing serious mechanical difficulties on a simulated combat mission. Only the weapon's explosive material detonates. The bomb is never recovered from the ocean.

April 11, 1950
A B-29 Bomber carrying a nuclear bomb crashes into a mountain on Manzano Base near Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. The bomb is destroyed but the accompanying nuclear capsule, which had not been inserted into bomb, remains intact.

July 27, 1956
A United States bomber crashes into a storage igloo containing three Mark 6 nuclear bombs at Lakenheath RAF base in the United Kingdom. The resulting fire damages the bombs, but fails to ignite their conventional explosive triggers.

May 22, 1957
A B-36 ferrying a nuclear weapon from Biggs Air Force Base, Texas to Kirtland accidentally discharges a bomb in the New Mexico desert. The high explosive material detonates, completely destroying the weapon and making a crater approximately 25 ft in diameter and 12 ft deep. Radiological survey of the area disclosed no radioactivity beyond the lip of the crater at which point the level was 0.5 milliroentgens. The nuclear capsules had not been inserted into the bombs. A nuclear detonation was not possible.

July 28, 1957
A C-124 aircraft en-route from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, loses power in two engines and jettisons two nuclear weapons over the Atlantic ocean. The nuclear weapons were never found.

February 5, 1958

March 11, 1958
A B-47 bomber accidentally drops a nuclear weapon over Mars Bluff, South Carolina. The conventional explosive trigger detonates, leaving a crater 75 feet wide and 35 feet deep.

November 4, 1958
A B-47 catches fire on take-off and crashes, killing one crew member. The high explosive in the nuclear weapon on board explodes leaving a crater 35 feet in diameter and 6 feet deep. Nuclear materials are recovered near the crash site.

November 26, 1958
A B-47 catches fire on the ground. The single nuclear weapon on board is destroyed by fire. Contamination is limited to the immediate vicinity.

January 23, 1961
A B-52 bomber carrying two 24 megaton bombs crashes at Goldsboro, North Carolina. On one of the bombs, five of six interlocking safety devices fail, and a single switch prevents detonation. The explosion would have been 1,800 times more powerful than the bomb exploded at Hiroshima.

Thank you all so very much for the wonderful birthday messages.

As one of you said....my vehicle may be old....but, Lordy, my spirit is young!

My grandchildren asked for some of my memories. This is what I told them:

Air raid drills and hiding under the school desk ( yes, like that would do any good)

White band-aids

Elvis

margarine in a plastic bag with a color capsule that you had to squeeze and break to make it yellow.

Scooters

poodle skirts and hula hoops

Coke in 8 ounce bottles

milkmen

black and white television

I like Ike

bombed out buildings in Munich (I was there)

candles on Christmas trees (can't do it now)

Mom cleaning the house in her high heeled shoes (not me!)

our '52 Chevy when we came here from Germany

And so many, many more.

I wish life could be so simple again.

Thanks for the wishes.

Marlys

That is really weird (her photo there with the others). I remember when she was, briefly, at FR. I googled her first name and only came up with one hit, which was nothing really.
