Thanks for the link to the INFOWARRIOR thread. :-)
I think most folks can see we're in a generalized global war on terror, of which Iraq is an important part. I also think a healthy majority of Americans would agree that these Islamists are a pain in the butt and are none too unhappy to see the US Government doing something useful by killing them.
The leftist press can spin it any way they want, but when folks see Americans being beheaded and their bodies mutilated by celebrating mobs they tend to want some payback. Kerry doesn't have any payback in him. Bush most certainly does.
I want to see media traitors on trail for treason.
It seems encouraging to me that our military, that are in NY this week for Fleet Week, are getting cheers and having their dinners and drinks paid for by patrons. This is in NY, of all places. The MSM hasn't been able to make the public hate our troops, ala Vietnam, with their constant drumbeat against the war.

If Khruschev said this then he was a prophet.

Not in a pure democracy but America is not one of those.
We have a Senate and an Electoral College that are supposed to offset the whimsy of the public and the scaremongers in media.

You and NOpardons are zeroed in. Bush in '04!
The pounding of the shoe was the only thing missing from Algore's disgraceful rant last Tuesday.

Anyone else have the same perceptions?
Media has gone WAY too far. I was at a wedding yesterday and everyone was talking about it. When the media bias becomes to topic of conversation among ordinary Americans they've really messed up. Fine by me, I just tell them about the internet, the Iraqi blogs, and the CENTCOM press briefings that the press ignores but they can access easily. Pretty soon the media is going to bias themselves right out of business.

I have to think so too. In my day-to-day life, that's certainly the way it is. The only folks who believe this clap-trap are the folks I know to be die-hard Ds. And they believe it without question, even when contradicting themselves from one sentence to the next.
Just last night, a relative of mine was over -- a die-hard D of many years. He told me in one breath that this war wasn't about WMD, that was a lie, it's really a war of imperialism. Then in the next breath he tells me even George Bush is sick of this war, and he'd pull out in a second if he knew how.
I told him I was confused, are we trying to colonize Iraq or cut and run, in his mind?
He said that was exactly his point -- the administration's policy is confused!!!
It's just non-sensical.
And all the non-Ds, 75% at least, are of the opinion it was a just war and it's being fought well. All the independents, too, are against the Ds on this.
I think this will be a very, very interesting year.
Sorry, you're correct, my term was off, we are a Republic. I would have once said a constitutional republic, but I'm not so sure I believe that anymore.
I still worry about the viability of democratically electing officails in a media-dominated society. The Senate and the Electoral College both can be manipulated by modern technology. The side with the best media team will win any election. That was probably the Clinton team's greatest 'innovation', if you will. The 'War Room'. (Did you ever see that Documentary?) Clinton was the first to institute a 24x7 'Media Response' team. With CNN/Fox/MSNBC/etc, an amateur just doesn't stand a ghosts' chance in hell.
I fear that politics will never be the same again. We have entered an entirely new era.
And committing open Sedition in time of war.
Thanks, Bob. The democRAT party IS like a septic tank - the big chunks float to the top!
There must be an election coming up - all us 'olders' are checkin' in, and I'm gettin' a h*rd-on!
Let's roll....................FRegards
Hi gonzo! Hope you & yours are having a lovely Memorial Day weekend. :-)
I guess algore just forgot to do that,in his state of hysteria.
True,true...I was in Manhattan last Thursday and can tell you,as an eyewitness, that the sailors I saw, were being treated VERY well,by ALL civilians. :-)
