Glad you made it.
I was "on duty" at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel when Bush arrived at 3:00 pm.
I was in charge of enter/exit of the parking garage (all of us managers had posts).
I got to see Bush's caravan pull in and the Secret Service guy on my station took me down to the lower level and I got to see Bush get out of the SUV and go into the building! Fun!
About 5 large, black, SUV's were used. One had the flags of the President flying and one had two huge antennas in the back the size of large baseball bats. Obviously they are the communication folks and have direct sattellite access. Probably for the nuclear football and other encrypted transmission. That was followed by a fleet of white vans.
Then the press was released and they walked up to the lobby entrance.
All in all, it was smooth and fun. I directed traffic in and out of the parking garage after they were cleared and kept them from going into restricted areas.
Thank you... very interesting "after action" report! ;-)
