I am so insensed by this kind of thing, it's hard to quantify. Rape is deadly, serious business, and it is one of the greatest fears a woman has, IMO.
I've lived alone my entire adult life and took great pains to never place myself in a situation where rape could occur. So to my way of thinking for some female to treat such a charge with such bottom-feeding disregard merits serious, serious jail time.
Back in my early twenties, I dated a man (once) who I had known casually for many years. We went out to dinner, then to a club. When we left the club and I asked to be taken home, he lunged for me in the car and I escaped by the skin of my teeth.
I dodged his search for me for 8 miles and 1 1/2 hours, from the shores of Lake Ontario to my parents house. My reaction time and ability to hike and hide were pretty good, thank the Lord.
Maybe now we know why Mackey was looking into hotels in the area.

Yeah, he's probably not going to want to become Judge Ito, who isn't on the short list for the Supreme Court last time I checked.
Frankly, I would be astonished if this even goes to trial. Surely someone who loves the DA in Eagle, Colorado has urged him not to become a kamikaze.
The best result to this case would be three things. Kobe walks. The woman gets help. And we do a serious and non-PC look at the rape shield laws.
She made declarations under oath in depos, also may have given false testimony and filed a false report.
Could be she will have her own jail time before she gets the chance to hit the streets again.
Seems like this was a long term attempt at a civil suit for big bucks against Kobe.

In addition it was reported he had a bag FULL of gold tennis bracelets as gifts for such special occasions.

Not from me. That pit bull knew the accuser's name was not for public consumption yet continued to repeat it until she was admonished by the judge. Seemingly, court room etiquette applies to all but Ms. Mackey. Had the shoe been on the other foot, I guarantee she would have been stomping on the judge's bench, bitching.
