WASHINGTON, May 25 - Members of the federal commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks have warned in recent days that the panel may fail to produce a unanimous final report this summer, with disagreements most likely over the panel's recommendations for a restructuring of the F.B.I., the C.I.A. and other counterterrorism agencies.
The threat of a split, with the possibility of separate majority and minority reports, is likely to be welcome news at the F.B.I., the C.I.A. and other intelligence and law-enforcement agencies that have been harshly criticized by the panel at its public hearings and that are almost certain to be targets of its final report.
In interviews this week, members of the bipartisan commission said they would strive to agree on a unanimous report before their congressionally mandated deadline of July 26. The commission is scheduled to meet privately throughout June to debate the policy recommendations that will be the centerpiece of the document.
The commission's chairman, Thomas H. Kean, a former Republican governor of New Jersey, has repeatedly called for a unanimous report, warning that anything less could undermine the commission's ability to persuade the White House and Congress to follow through on its recommendations.

Duh. What a monumental waste of time and money.
Well of course they won't reach unanimity because they, and their lapdogs the media, wanted to lay all the blame on the Bush Administration. When they realized the demoncRAT Clintoon Administration was the real culprit, the turkeys lost all their punch and steam. So the political hasbeens started looking for anyone and everyone to blame to account for spending the $15 million budget allotted to them. What a waste!
Yes, it's hard to find this many people that are 100% equally stupid.
It sounds like the Lehman would join with the Dems and produce an anti-Bush report. Perhaps some others too, there are no strong Republicans on the committee. only the majority anti-Bush report will get media attention, the Republicans will not stand together - Lehman, perhaps some others, will flip.
TRANSLATION: The media hasn't been talking about us lately and we really like the attention so we've leaked this non-story in an attempt to be in the headlinse again.
The report will come out cleansed. No one will be to blame. They will state what needs to be done to move forward.
Then the RATS will write their own review of the memo slamming Bush. This came from th eleaked document that Hannity received. Why should we expect something different?
Gorelick and the partisan democrats on the panel make it impossible to have unanimity unless the others bare their necks and spread their cheeks, to allow the Gorelick goons to write the conclusions.
Suggest we get a band to play (German brass band with a couple of tubas) when the panel releases its "report".
Does anyone actually care what this joke of a commission is going to say??? A bunch of politicians are going to tell COPS, FIREFIGHTERS, and others how to do their jobs better? What a crock.
If you ask me, the commission should include cops, firefighters, FBI, CIA, first responders, and anyone else who can actually look back at the situation and use their own EXPERIENCE to judge how things might be done better next time.
Last thing I want is a suit telling a guy in the field what the heck his job is and how to do it.

Taking a pool now...who will be the first commission member to write the first anti-Bush book about what was REALLY discovered from the hearings?
Circus music?

I hope they keep on fighting amongst themselves, right up until November 3.
The commission is a joke.
I think Osama should be a panel member. Heck, let's add Saddam, too, while we're at it.
And Ted Kennedy, and Bugs Bunny, and Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Bulwinkle the Moose.
(It's a shame to put great Toons in with those idiots, though.)
