I meant to include the actual shortcuts: (CTRL+Enter) to tab between Opera tabs, (ALT+Enter) to switch applications under MS Windows.

And ALT+TAB to switch between any apps including browser sessions. Tabbed browsing is a feature, no doubt, but I like my browswer window as big as possible and IMO it just eats that precious space. Can you turn it completely off, if you want? I would hope so, surely possible. Still just an inconvenience, IMO.

Yes, by default you can set things to open in a new window or a tab (most calls make target-new so they will behave that way.. To open a link in a new tab you either have to set the keystroke or just right click and hit 'open in new tab'

usually I use tabs withing sites, and different windows in other places (on FR I use tabs withing threads when replying so I keep my place)

I must have been really out of it yesterday... I meant (CTRL-Tab) and (ALT-Tab), as you pointed out. I actually don't have the tabs displayed, myself (you can shut them off), but I can still navigate between them with (CTRL-Tab) or by using the menus with the mouse.

As you may have been able to deduce, I prefer to use a keyboard shortcut whenever possible because I don't like having to remove a hand from the keyboard to move the mouse once I get going... :)
