Bless his heart. He's a good man. This speech didn't help as much as it should have. No fire in the belly. I know it's there, but he didn't show it.

When I was listening to his speech, only one word came to me - ENDGAME. The clock is now ticking and there's only 1 month to an orderly, precise and promised handover. No retreats, no panic, no shame. It may be tough at times says the coach but we've got to keep the eye on the ball and watch the clock. Very well done speech. It gives a great deal of reassurance to many different intended audiences that the coalition has a plan and they intend to keep it.
Goodbye Vietnam. Hello Iraq.

The first of these steps will occur next month, when our coalition will transfer full sovereignty to a government of Iraqi citizens who will prepare the way for national elections.Pukin Dog on the LIVE thread says this FULL SOVEREIGNTY is a surprise to the UN, French , Germans and JOHN KERRY> cuts the possible graft out of the deal like was seen in the Oil for Food program run by the UN!

American military forces in Iraq will operate under American command Unlike what Clinton did (in places other than Iraq), or Kerry would do, which would be to have American military forces in Iraq operate under U.N. command. .
BIG difference.
But if Clinton were to walk into the situation now, he would abandon them there. Kerry would either abandon them, or abandon them to the U.N.

We believe that freedom can advance and change lives in the greater Middle East as it has advanced and changed lives in Asia, in Latin America, in Eastern Europe and Africa. We believe it is a tragedy of history that in the Middle East, which gave the world great gifts of law and science and faith, so many have been held back by lawless tyranny and fanaticism.
Bravo! We just don't hear this type of speech anymore. It's not PC.
