Well, I think his views ARE for sale, given his behavior tonight. Having just watched a disgraceful performance from Monica Crowley, I am beginning to think a lot of people in the media are for sale.
Yep...they're whores.
Monica seemed to be coming from the overreactionary wing of conservatism, never happy, 'bomb 'em all sort it out later' kind of act. I was not impressed in the least.
But Clancy strikes me as different, that one stings a bit. Sure, he can be a jerk in interviews, but it sounds like he, like some others, have an honest disagreement in what we should have done regarding Iraq. Mistakes have been made, though we don't like to talk about it given how the Dems/media totally twist it out of proportion and turn them into myths and propaganda. Clancy did say he liked Bush, believed he is a good man, but they disagree regarding Iraq. I took the 'probably' response to the 'Will you vote for Bush' question differently, though clearly he knows that his speaking out right now looks like piling on and hurts the President's reelection.
Perhaps it is meant as a warning sign/wake up call. I like Rumsfeld, do not want him to resign(don't want to capitulate to the thoughtless media bloodlustbut), but I do think he has made several critical mistakes. So I can understand military and intelligence types being critical in their analysis and thinking there needs to be some accountability and housecleaning. The timing stinks, but OTOH its better now than in the fall.
OBTW, if Hannity asked, I most assuredly am voting for President Bush.
