Remember back in '90 when Jesse Helms defeated Harvey Gannt and he apologized for being late for his victory speech by saying "I'm sorry I was late...I wanted to hear dan Rather announce that I had won re-election". He got a roar out of the crowd.

Bush should do the same thing on Election Night "Ladies and Gentlemen, I apologize for making you wait so long. I had to wait for Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather to declare me as elected Prsident for a 2nd term".
