Thanks for the reference. I think there is less to the comment than meets the eye. The US will still be pulling the strings, and has taken pains to make that so. Think about it. How can the US allow its rubber meets the road goals to be deflected by an unelected body? That is too risky. Granted, if the interim council goes off the reservation, the US will have to respect that. The US has tried to preclude that. That is my sense of the matter.

Woodward is quite the promoter,

He talks like Forrest Gump, making everyone think he's so innocent.

Before the book is distributed, he acts like it's anti-Bush, so that all the Dems will rush out and buy it. Wodward calculated correctly that anything with a whiff of negativity about Bush will create a feeding frenzy in the press and the Beltway incestuous types.

THEN, the actual book gets out there, and suddenly the PUBBIES want to buy it to count how many times Woodward contradicts the Bush-haters.

It's all about maximizing profits and understanding the market. And at that, Bob is no dummy.

Pelosi and Albright were joined at the news conference by Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., and former Texas Gov. Ann Richards, who lost her office to Bush in 1994.

"It is time for the women of America to stand up now and assume the responsibility one more time and clean up the mess that these men have made," Richards said.

Idiot woman. If women were in charge of the world, we'd still be living in CAVES.

FWIW, I'm female ... and I DESPISE women who speak disdainfully of "men."

It pains me to say it.....but I wasn't impressed or inspired:-(

What would you want the president to do? Perhaps come over and wash your **** for you.*

*With a tip of the hat to the late John Geilgud.

I have the same thought. President Bush is the one man I would like to meet.

The 9-11 Commissars wouldn't be hogging the camera if the networks didn't provide the spotlight for them. It's a dysfunctional symbiotic relationship....

Luckily the family is watching something else. No commentary to interrupt my sleep tonight!

You've explained Woodward perfectly. He and his agent have marketing 101 down pat.

We shall see. I don't mean to demean the turnover, such as it is. I just am not going to be sucked into the rhetoric. Mark me down as cynical. But as posted above, the US has good reasons for keeping it cosmetic at present.

I didn't like the speech. There was nothing in it with respect to women and minorities. /sarcasm

TexBlue, the Media Research Center is nice, but it doesn't cover 2% of what's out there.

One of my favorite people is on FNC right now - Richard Perle. I could listen to his voice forever.

Ha...we went there last week after my son'd baseball game...great ice creama and frozen yogurt!

Carlisle covers strategic issues, policy, and high level war fighting and Joint and coalition operations.

Leavenworth covers more in the weeds tactical and operational issues...and very little policy and Joint and Coalition operations.

Leavenworth gets Majors ready to work as Battalion XO's and S-3's, as well as hard workig lower level staff officers on higher level staffs.

Carlisle gets Colonels ready to work as primary staff oficers and directors on higher level staffs, as well as teaching you to assist in policy formation for both civilain and military leaders.

Alan Colmes is a damn fool. He can't find anything derogatory to say about the content of the speech, so he's claiming the speech was a campaign speech. Af if the president shouldn't be allowed to give any speeches in an election year.

Richard Perle saying we have been there too long. (Hannity and Colmes) Says we should have been out by now.

I think the country would be a lot better off if there was no commentary, myself.

Now Colmes is saying nothing new, and this is a campaign speech.

Sometimes overwhelming force achieves stability and sometimes measured force achieves stability.

Level heads don't always -- level cities.
