New York Sen. Hillary Clinton said Sunday that she would support pro-life Republican Sen. John McCain if Sen. John Kerry tapped him as his running mate."I'm a big admirer of John McCain," Clinton told "Fox News Sunday." "I have the greatest respect for him."
While saying she accepts McCain's denials that he's not interested in the VP slot, Clinton added that a prospective Kerry decision to tap McCain for VP "is such a personal decision for him that I will support whoever he chooses."
"And if he picks John McCain?" asked FNS host Chris Wallace.
"Absolutely, I'll be there supporting whoever John Kerry decides to pick,' Clinton replied, insisting, "We have pro-life Democrats [in our party]."
The comments represent a 180 degree shift for the top Democrat, who is considered a pro-abortion icon. At the 1992 Democratic Party that nominated President Clinton, then-Pennsylvania Gov. Robert Casey was barred from speaking.
McCain has repeatedly cited the Democratic Party's committment to legalized abortion as a key reason why he wouldn't accept a Kerry VP invite.
On another topic, Sen. Clinton said she had no hard feelings against Republicans who turned her husband into the first elected U.S. president ever to be impeached, including her fellow Fox guest, Sen. Lindsey Graham, who was a House impeachment manager.
"You know, I believe in redemption and growth," she told Fox. "And, you know, people who were previously misguided can see the light."
Sen. Graham smiled but didn't challenge her assessment.
Barbara Olson's book, "Hell To Pay" dissects Hillary Clinton and uses Saul Alinsky's comments as chapter lead-ins.
"Alinsky, a life-long Marxist, was a Chicago organizer who was dedicated to winning at all cost. He once wrote, "The most unethical of all means, is the non-use of any means." In simple terms, "Do whatever it takes to win." If that means lying, cheating, and stealing--so be it. Win at any cost.
Alinsky dedicated his book, Rules for Radicals, to Lucifer, who, notes Alinsky, "is the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom."
The spirit of Saul Alinsky is alive and well in ..the heart of ... Hillary Clinton. Alinsky was a friend and mentor to Hillary. In fact, she adored this Marxist so much that she wrote her senior college thesis on Alinsky's organizing tactics and strategies."

Thanks for the ping. Some people have been predicting the Dims would pull in from the left, and veer center right, in order to compromise the Repub's stranglehold on the hard-right. Hitlery recently called for a (gasp) stronger border initiative.
McCain's wife wears the same "ugly" eagle pin that Hillary wears. She is part of that "Feminist" Group. Think about that one.....

Having McNasty a heartbeat away from the being President is almost as scary as Kerry. I did say almost.
If McCain was to join Kerry as VP it would be presented as a Republican repudiation of Bush. Unfortunately, the move could put Kerry into the White House. I dislike McCain as a cheap political opportunist but most people in the country know nothing about him. The Press would play up one fact again and again - McCain supported the liberation of Iraq - joining Kerry would mean a loss of faith - not in the mission but the man in charge. We don't need this. This election is going to be tough enough.

The items are not unique to be sure, until they become signature statements for their famous wearers. Such is the case of the brooch that has been gracing Democrat power suits from Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. Ask for it by its official name, the “Liberty Eagle,” and most local jewelers need a description. Ask for it as the “Hillary pin” and they quote prices and availability.
The golden bird, perched defiantly atop a pearlescent sphere, was crafted by Georgetown jeweler Ann Hand, wife of former Johnson administration protocol chief Lloyd Hand. Former Clinton White House communications director Ann Lewis was quoted in a February 1998 article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel explaining that during the 1996 presidential campaign, the pin “became a symbol for women who were supporting the president.” Local sellers say most purchasers now consider it a solidarity statement supporting first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The first lady wore it as she assailed a “vast right-wing conspiracy” on the Today show in 1998. One adorned the suit of presidential secretary Betty Currie as she testified before a grand jury during the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.
The first lady reportedly wears the $75 faux version. In gold, with a pearl and ruby eyes, the pin sells for $5,500. Now the sorority pin of Democratic power brokers has alighted on a Republican. Poised prominently on the shoulder of an ebullient Cindy McCain — as she celebrated the recent victory of her husband, Arizona Sen. John McCain, in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary — was the Hillary pin.
Asked why Cindy McCain wore the pin, a McCain spokesman replied, “I will get back to you.” But then never did.

Not exactly, but she is closer to a moderate than most on this board realize.
Sen. Clinton is extremely popular on her party's left. For that reason, she can get away with not pandering to them on an issue like abortion. Like most politicians, she will move as far to the center as her base will allow, and in this case they are liable to allow a fair amount.
Now, why is Hilliary so popular among leftist Democrats? A big reason is all the flack she gets from FR types. So even though all this Hitlery stuff on FR grates on me, objectively it is moving Sen. Clinton, a woman who stands a good chance of being America's next president to the center. So I should be shutting up and giving the floor back to the Hillary-bashers. As I will now do.
Hillary is an extreme leftist, but she is also a realist. She realizes, like her husband, that winning is more important than ideology. Hillary will use triangulation, like Bill, to advance her own political ambitions. WJC led the Dems into a position of being a minority party in order to keep his hold on power. Hillary will say or do anything to get what she wants.
