Believers in the U.S. Constitution and the Declaration of Independence:
Where is Terri's independence?
I'm talking about her independence to learn and to be free from her lonely room.
To kick off Terri's May-June 2004 Dailies, our first article is by Deroy Murdock of Scripps Howard News Service.
Let Terri Schiavo's Parents Restore Her Dignity. May 22, 2004

"If Matthew Stein did shake his baby, then go through the formalities that our system has set up,'' Frank said. ``If this does take hold and they can run roughshod past the parents, it establishes the precedent for legalized killing -- euthanasia.''
In the June 11-17, Gulf Coast Business Review, Judge Greer is on the cover and the issue's feature story. Here is one of the statements that appears within the article, from page 6 (emphasis mine):
"But there just is no hidden relationship, says Felos and Greer in interviews with GCBR. They claim only an attorney-judge relationship.
Oppmann has also raised issues about Greers campaign contributions. Hes focusing mostly on contributions from current or former hospice board members.
He also questions the propriety of a contribution from Deborah Bushnell, a Dunedin attorney who also represents Schiavo.
As for his relationship with the hospice, Greer says the nonprofit group cared for his father, Charles, who died at age 79. They took care of my father during his last days in 1991, he says. Thats probably the closest Ive been with hospice ever.
Greer is reluctant to talk specifics about the hospice as it relates to Terris guardianship. He fears her parents willseize upon anything he says to disqualify him as Terris guardianship judge.
Anderson has filed four motions seeking to disqualify him.
The question has to do with the case,he says. I dont want to get into a situation where I get a fifth petition to disqualify me.
But I dont know who is on the (hospice) board, Greer adds. So I cant tell you if I have good friends on the board or not. I have no idea who is in charge of administering the hospice organization.
Felos has served as chairman on the hospice board of directors. He resigned after Terris husband admitted her to the facility in April 2000. About two months later Greer signed an order to remove the feeding tube.
Terri was already a hospice patient when I resigned, because an order was signed that her artificial life support would be removed, Felos says. She would be removed to the hospice No. 1 because she had a terminal illness.
There was another reason, Felos says. Court testimony accused the Schindlers and supporters of creating disturbances at another facility that cared for Terri. The nursing home administrator said if that pattern continued they would ask us to remove her, Felos says. We wanted to make a transfer in an orderly fashion rather than doing it under the gun.
That response doesnt sit well with Terris brother, Bobby Schindler. He questions why Greer allowed his sisters transfer without a required court order. Greer says he cannot discuss the issue because it involves a pending case.
We learned about it after the fact, Schindler says. Terri was moved and our attorney was notified and she went to Greer after the fact. It was a moot issue at that point. We would have objected to Terri being moved to hospice.
Catherine Felos, George Felos' ex-wife helped Judge Greer on Judge Greer's 1998 re-election campaign. She was a big wheel on the committee. So Greer's saying that Felos' wife helped get him reelected but that they don't know each other. That's a very stupid statement on the part of Judge Greer. He just destroyed his credibility further, if that's possible.
Next, Greer states that he didn't know anyone that is on the board. Besides George Felos, Martha Lenderman (judge John C. Lenderman's wife) is on that board, and Greer's old cronie and pal Barbara Sheen Todd is also on that board. Barbara Sheen Todd and Greer were both the zoning commissioners that voted to support Mel Sembler's sale of swampland (the Cooper's Point scandal) at an inflated price to the city of Clearwater, Florida many years back. They've been thick as thieves for a long time.
Is there no end to this judge's sheer stupidity telling such easily challenged lies?
FYI: Why is Judge Greer's race the ONLY JUDICIAL RACE that requires requesting copies of his donor lists at 15 cents per page? All the other judicial races are "free" to the public. WE CANNOT ACCESS JUDGE GREER'S DONATION LISTS. What are the chances this judge without scruples has something to hide? Pretty, pretty good.
If your are on my DEFEAT GREAT PING LIST, you will see this again on the Jan Govan for Judge Thread. FV
As you know, Terri Schiavo's parents have twice been denied an opportunity to intervene in the case of Schiavo v Bush. This is the case to determine the constitutionality of Terri's Law. On Monday, the 2nd District Court of Appeals has scheduled time to hear oral arguments on the matter. Their notice follows:

While I wish that was true, it really isn't, I'm sorry to say. Judge Greer had no "reelection committee" in 1998 (he was, as you remember, running unopposed). He had the legally required campaign treasurer (same one he has this year). Except for expenditures for some mailings, his filing fee, and a donation to the Pinellas County Education Foundation, all of the campaign contributions for the 1998 general election were (proportionately) returned to the contributors. Neither George Felos, nor his now ex-wife, Constance Felos apparently made a contribution to the 1998 Greer campaign (source, State of Florida, Division of Elections, 1998 General Election campaign finance data base).
Next, Greer states that he didn't know anyone that is on the board. Besides George Felos, Martha Lenderman (judge John C. Lenderman's wife) is on that board, and Greer's old cronie and pal Barbara Sheen Todd is also on that board.
While it is correct that Martha Lenderman (who is Judge Lenderman's sister, not his wife) was on the Board of the Hospice of the Suncoast from 1999 to 2002, there is no evidence that Barbara Sheen Todd has ever served on that Board. I think it's probably likely that Judge Greer has met (through professional, social contact) Judge Lenderman's wife, but I don't think it necessarily follows that he has met his sister.
I know that I have met a number of my husband's professional colleagues (and he has met mine). However, although my brother lives in the same city I do, and we are (I believe) a close family, we do not share the same social group, friends, or professional acquaintances...we don't even attend the same church. I honestly couldn't tell you the name of a single person he works with, with the exception of his administrative assistant, whom I knew before she began working at his company.

Free Republic posters wrote to the contest holders, National Civil League and told them Clearwater didn't deserve to win.... THEY LOST. WOO HOO. Who says public pressure doesn't work? http://www.sptimes.com/ (local news)
Thanks to all who wrote such great emails to: gchandler@ncl.org.
I'll go find the link to post here.

The remarks included in the article were part of what was forwarded to me and I left the forward "as is".
What is curious is why Judge Greer's donor lists for this campaign must be purchased at 15 cents per page instead of available on line like virtually every other elective office for 2004 elections?
Who's on that list? And why the fuss to put up obstacles to make his donor list harder to obtain?
If requests by mail are mandatory, then GREER will have his own list of who requested his donor list now doesn't he?
What about campaign finance laws?
I think that's very curious as well, FV! When I click to look at Judge Greer's campaign finance activity (for this election), I get a table with a big red X to the left, and the notation that "X Indicates that detail has not been released." I know that detail was available before, but it sure isn't now, and I haven't even seen anything about it being available for 15¢ a page.
I'm wondering if they will open the details back up once Jan Govan (and Judge Greer) have filed their 6/31/04 campaign finance reports. Maybe it's some procedure within the Division of Elections that they "lock" one candidate's campaign finance detail disclosure until they both have something to "disclose?" I really don't know--just speculating some possibilities here. It sure seems weird to me that we could see it before, and now we can't.
Praying the hearing tomorrow goes in Terri's favor.
WOOOHOOO is right! Special OFF ping!! Thanks for that info that Clearwater did not win "All American City" and was not named anywhere, I take it. Freepers, your prayers and emails have helped in this . . . check out fv's link:
http://www.sptimes.com/2004/06/13/Northpinellas/Clearwater_not_named_.shtml
And praying for victories in court tomorrow. May God bring continued comfort and protection to Terri and to her family. May He bring blessings and joys into their lives beyond all they can ask or imagine -- may He wipe away every tear. And may fear of His righteous judgement be reflected in court tomorrow -- don't know quite how to say it, but I betcha Pegita does ;o) !
I will be praying for any freepers or lurkers who are able to attend tomorrow in Lakeland at 9:30 -- thanks for being there for Terri. Info above at fv's post yesterday.
GREAT choice of words.
your favorite sign says, "TELL LIES LONG ENOUGH, OFTEN ENOUGH, LOUD ENOUGH, STILL 100% LIES"
Very good! I agree, lies are still lies. And liars lie, watch out for the lies.
OTOH, it brings to mind Zip's tagline which says,
'DimocRat lies told often enough became truth to 42% of Americans'

Oh this ought to open some eyes and get some finger pointing started lol
Bump!
Hi, CD -- Oh, don't we hope! Good morning, windchime! Good morning, fv! I hope you all have a great day.
Morning prayer bump for Terri and her family.
Joining those prayers, and looking for information.
