British opinions today is remarkably shaky and reminiscent of West Germany at the height of Pershing missiles deployment cicra 1982. Looking at German sentiments today, I'm afraid it will serve as a mirror of the British attitudes to the US in year 2026 (And Germany's opinions then will probably resemble Frace of 2003).

I can't agree with that analysis, three of my reasons:
1. Although he is currently shagging with the peasantry, King Harry will restore some shine to the British royalty. Regardless about what they say out loud, the Brits love their monarch, well the non-muslim Brits, it sets them apart from the rest of the world. I don't believe a "King Charles" will ever ascend to the throne either through abdication or natural causes.
2. The Germans were toe to toe with the Warsaw Pact. I know missiles and planes can cross a channel with no problem but foot soldiers can't. It gives a sense of protection similiar to a moat.
3. The Brits know we will be there for them in a heartbeat if asked. The Germans knew they were a trip wire. They were there to just slow the forces.
