Fortunately, the LeftWing geek's unelectable...MUD
As far as I can tell, he lies about every other time he opens his mouth. As soon as he gets back from VN, he's immediately going on about all of the "daily atrocities" committed there by his fellow servicemen. In fact, he stated that he himself participated. What a guy! And somehow this makes him a good man for POTUS? Not in a million years. It's painfully obvious that he says whatever he thinks you want to hear. I cannot trust someone like that, not for a second. Add that to his voting record for the last two decades, and it spells LOSER.
And how does what happened 30-plus years ago matter in 2004?
It matters greatly. A leopard cannot change his spots. If anything, he's even worse now. A man is known by the company he keeps. Here's your boy with three other Senate leftists, after voting to ban gun show and voting to ban hunting ammo back in March, and then having the unmitigated gall to state on the Senate floor how he "believes in the second amandment". Suuuure you do, buddy.
No, no, I mean evidence that Kerry lied about anything. Not just the same unprovable assertions that show up everywhere else in the thread.
What "daily atrocities" is he talking about, specifically? And how do you know that these things didn't happen?
You shouldn't call someone a liar unless you can back it up.
Here's your boy with three other Senate leftists, after voting to ban gun show and voting to ban hunting ammo back in March, and then having the unmitigated gall to state on the Senate floor how he "believes in the second amandment". Suuuure you do, buddy.
Well, I also believe that:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
But, I also believe that banning unregulated gun show arms sales and hunting ammo sales do nothing to add to "the security of a free state", nor take away from "the right of the people to keep and bear arms." How is Kerry being inconsistent here (as you seem to imply)?
You and I will have to start a thread on the Clinton administration sometime. It'll be fun trashing apart all of your little conspiracy theories like the Cowboys do to the Redskins every year. =)
So you think Kerry's unelectable? Au contraire. If the election were held today, Kerry would probably win.
As for:
"banning unregulated gun show arms sales and hunting ammo sales do nothing to add to 'the security of a free state', nor take away from "the right of the people to keep and bear arms.' How is Kerry being inconsistent here (as you seem to imply)?"
The inconsistency is that those gun control measures are obvious and blatant infringements to a pre-existing right that is uniquely honored in the Constitution that "shall not be infringed". I suggest you grab a dictionary and look up the word "infringed". The rest should be automatic.
Be seeing you,
"Kerry hooked up with an organization called Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW). Two events cooked up by this group went a long way toward cementing in the public mind the image of Vietnam as one big atrocity. The first of these was the January 31, 1971, "Winter Soldier Investigation," organized by "the usual suspects" among antiwar celebrities such as Jane Fonda, Dick Gregory, and Kennedy-assassination conspiracy theorist, Mark Lane. Here, individuals purporting to be Vietnam veterans told horrible stories of atrocities in Vietnam: using prisoners for target practice, throwing them out of helicopters, cutting off the ears of dead Viet Cong soldiers, burning villages, and gang-raping women as a matter of course.
The second event was "Dewey Canyon III," or what VVAW called a "limited incursion into the country of Congress" in April of 1971. It was during this VVAW "operation" that John Kerry first came to public attention. The group marched on Congress to deliver petitions to Congress and then to the White House. The highlight of this event occurred when veterans threw their medals and ribbons over a fence in front of the Capitol, symbolizing a rebuke to the government that they claimed had betrayed them. One of the veterans flinging medals back in the face of his government was John Kerry, although it turns out they were not his medals, but someone else's. Several days later Kerry testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. His speech, touted as a spontaneous rhetorical endeavor, was a tour de force, convincing many Americans that their country had indeed waged a merciless and immoral war in Vietnam. It was particularly powerful because Kerry did not fit the antiwar-protester mold he was no scruffy, wide-eyed hippie. He was instead the best that America had to offer. He was, according to Burkett and Whitley, the "All-American boy, mentally twisted by being asked to do terrible things, then abandoned by his government."
Kerry began by referring to the Winter Soldiers Investigation in Detroit. Here, he claimed, "over 150 honorably discharged and many very highly decorated veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command." It is impossible to describe to you exactly what did happen in Detroit, the emotions in the room, the feelings of the men who were reliving their experiences in Vietnam, but they did, they relived the absolute horror of what this country, in a sense, made them do. They told their stories. At times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.
This is quite a bill of particulars to lay at the feet of the U.S. military. He said in essence that his fellow veterans had committed unparalleled war crimes in Vietnam as a matter of course, indeed, that it was American policy to commit such atrocities. In fact, the entire Winter Soldiers Investigation was a lie. It was inspired by Mark Lane's 1970 book entitled Conversations with Americans, which claimed to recount atrocity stories by Vietnam veterans. This book was panned by James Reston Jr. and Neil Sheehan, not exactly known as supporters of the Vietnam War. Sheehan in particular demonstrated that many of Lane's "eye witnesses" either had never served in Vietnam or had not done so in the capacity they claimed.
Nonetheless, Sen. Mark Hatfield inserted the transcript of the Winter Soldier testimonies into the Congressional Record and asked the Commandant of the Marine Corps to investigate the war crimes allegedly committed by Marines. When the Naval Investigative Service attempted to interview the so-called witnesses, most refused to cooperate, even after assurances that they would not be questioned about atrocities they may have committed personally. Those that did cooperate never provided details of actual crimes to investigators. The NIS also discovered that some of the most grisly testimony was given by fake witnesses who had appropriated the names of real Vietnam veterans. Guenter Lewy tells the entire study in his book, America in Vietnam.
Kerry's 1971 testimony includes every left-wing cliché about Vietnam and the men who served there. It is part of the reason that even today, people who are too young to remember Vietnam are predisposed to believe the worst about the Vietnam War and those who fought it."
Kerry is a power-grubbing LIAR and lowlife anti-American, and shall NEVER become POTUS!!

I might just try and make it...MUD
Tickets are 20 at the door. Its at the pavillion. The festivities start at 5:50, but Skynyrd doesn't go on until 8.
Maybe I'll see ya there
Hope so...should be a great show. Who's singin' fer them now? Johnny van Zandt?
"Like other totalitarian movements, the terrorists seek to impose a grim vision in which dissent is crushed, and every man and woman must think and live in colorless conformity. So to the oppressed peoples everywhere, we are offering the great alternative of human liberty. Like enemies of the past, the terrorists underestimate the strength of free peoples. The terrorists believe that free societies are essentially corrupt and decadent, and with a few hard blows will collapse in weakness and in panic. The enemy has learned that America is strong and determined, because of the steady resolve of our citizens, and because of the skill and strength of the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and the United States Air Force. (Applause.)
And like the aggressive ideologies that rose up in the early 1900s, our enemies have clearly and proudly stated their intentions: Here are the words of al Qaeda's self-described military spokesman in Europe, on a tape claiming responsibility for the Madrid bombings. He said, "We choose death, while you choose life. If you do not stop your injustices, more and more blood will flow and these attacks will seem very small compared to what can occur in what you call terrorism." Here are the words of another al Qaeda spokesman, Suleiman Abu Gheith. Last year, in an article published on an al Qaeda website, he said, "We have the right to kill four million Americans -- two million of them children -- and to exile twice as many and wound and cripple hundreds of thousands. Furthermore, it is our right to fight them with chemical and biological weapons."
In all these threats, we hear the echoes of other enemies in other times -- that same swagger and demented logic of the fanatic. Like their kind in the past, these murderers have left scars and suffering. And like their kind in the past, they will flame and fail and suffer defeat by free men and women. (Applause.) The enemies of freedom are opposed by a great and growing alliance. Nations that won the Cold War, nations once behind an Iron Curtain, and nations on every continent see this threat clearly. We're cooperating at every level of our military, law enforcement and intelligence to meet the danger. The war on terror is civilization's fight. And, as in the struggles of the last century, civilized nations are waging this fight together. The terrorists of our day are, in some ways, unlike the enemies of the past. The terrorist ideology has not yet taken control of a great power like Germany or the Soviet Union. And so the terrorists have adopted a strategy different from the gathering of vast and standing armies. They seek, instead, to demoralize free nations with dramatic acts of murder. They seek to wear down our resolve and will by killing the innocent and spreading fear and anarchy. And they seek weapons of mass destruction, so they can threaten or attack even the most powerful nations. Fighting this kind of enemy is a complex mission that will require all your skill and resourcefulness."

??? Here's the sequence of events that happened today:
1. You call Kerry a liar,
2. I ask for evidence to back your claim,
3. You tell me to look it up yourself.
So does that mean I can toss around any smear I want about your candidate, and expect you to do the research to back the claim up? That's intellectualy lazy, to say the least.
Also, here's the definition of "infringed":
"to encroach upon in a way that violates law or the rights of another"
By saying you can't purchase guns in a certain venue, you're not encroaching upon the right of ownership. You can still own a firearm, but you now have to purchase it somewhere else. (In fact, you make it easier for gun purchases to conform to the Brady Law, which is also the law of the land).
ROFLMAO...........
I guess AVVA doesn't have any members in Delaware because the folks I've been talkting to there are on a "ANYONE BUT A DEMOCRAT" roll.......including Vietnam Vets that have always been diehard Democrats.
WRONG......that occurred during the 8 years prior to 2000
You've gotten me involved in an arguement I usually stay out of!!!!!
Your posts, pictures and points are spot on!!!!
BINGO!!!!!!!
He is the one that claimed the "daily atrocities" it is his responsibility to back it up with solid proof - if he can't or wn't, he's a liar.
30 years later and I have seen no evidence presented by him other than his say so.
