No, because those numbers don't tell the whole story. In the same report, look at the number of American casualties prior to 9/11 and after 9/11. During Clinton's watch, only 87 American casualties in eight years. (The report only has the 1998-2000 numbers -- 41 total -- so I'll have to find a link for the pre-1998 numbers). During Bush's watch, after 9/11, we have 67 casualties in less than three years.
Which makes perfect sense, if you think about it. The existence of a terrorist network (Al-Qaeda) that has gained in power since 9/11 has provided the money and resources to made the attacks more efficient in number of civilians killed. An increase in "quality" (if you want to call it that) of attacks means a decrease in quantity.
Whether or not it's been reflected in any numbers so far, the fact that we're practically giving Al-Qaeda a "home base" in Iraq, and making our own Al-Qaeda recruitment posters with the Abu Ghirab pictures, can't be too good for our safety.
Say what?!! Iraqis used to be raped, maimed, and murdered by Saddam...and you wanna equate THAT with a half-dozen LeftWing would-be sado-masochists taking pictures of Iraqis doing perverted things a half-year ago?! Puh-LEEEZE...
It's more than a half-dozen sado-masochists, the responsibility for their actions appears to go all the way up to the top (i.e. Rumsfeld and Bush), and it's more than just perverted things. Physical torture and murder are two of the things currently being investigated at Abu Ghirab. Not just some "kids blowing off steam," as Rush would have you believe.
