EXECUTION: FOUR HELD

Four people have been arrested over the beheading of American Nicholas Berg, Iraq sources say.

The 26-year-old businessman's decapitated body was found 10 days ago in Baghdad.

His killing was shown around the world on the internet.

The poor quality website video showed Berg dressed in orange overalls kneeling on the floor with his hands tied back.

There were five masked men behind him. One read a statement urging Muslims to take revenge over the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

The masked men then pushed the American contractor to the floor and shouted "God is greatest" above his screams.

His head was cut off with a knife and then held aloft.

The website said the execution was performed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a top ally of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

It is not known if he was among the four people arrested.

Nicholas Berg's headless body was found May 9 in western Baghdad. Three days later, a videotape posted on an al-Qaeda-related website showed him being decapitated by hooded men.

Berg's captors said the killing was to avenge abuses of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison by US forces.

see my post to johnfrink to see all of the inconsistences regarding the identities of the "hijackers" there is obstruction and bumbling going on via the FBI regarding this topic that is clear.

but what convinces me even more that we are being distracted, is that the flight instructors said these guys couldnt fly, they had horrible skills. stuff you cant over come by playing videogames on your computer.

and that makes it obvious that the ones the FBI tells me im supposed to think did it. didnt fly those planes. specifically the one that pulled the very tight loop around the pentagon. no way no how. i/we are bring lied to.

i again state for the record. i say kill anyone that seeks to carry out terrorist actions against the US whether here or abroad.

its the crap im being fed by the govt that makes me think they are either hiding information or they dont know what they are doing. either spells danger for our country. and i would feel this way no matter who is in the white house and before all you peeps get worked into a lather i voted for bush. but if i see bullsh*t i call it.

A simple statement that those photos of prisoners and soldiers, was not in compliance with standing orders - would have been MORE than sufficient...

That being said....

I am certainly relieved that there are no photos or documentation for those" instances where we were not on "full control" or on our best "behavior"....

um no i havent been to all the intel schools but i dont think you need to to see this is not osama. so you go on thinking whatever helps you sleep at night. and maybe try and answer..... if hes dead howd 'Z cut the guys head off, and if he's not dead where's the limp from the missing leg?

i know two simple questions to answer but íts easier for you to simply avoid them.

Damn straight!! It weren't Moslem extremists that pulled off 9-11. They didn't kill Nick Berg or Danny Pearl neither.

Avoid? [yawn] Hardly. I follow this stuff, I have been to some fancy intel schools, and I've seen no credible report that Zarqawi is assessed as dead. Concerning the limp?

In the past, American intelligence officials have said Mr. Zarqawi had lost a leg in an American bombing in Afghanistan and was fitted with a prosthetic leg in Iraq in 2002, during a stay in Baghdad that they have called evidence of tacit support by Saddam Hussein's government.

But the figure in the video shows no evidence of a limp. An American counterterrorism official said Thursday that while intelligence analysts still believed that Mr. Zarqawi inhad jured his leg and was treated in Iraq, they no longer thought that he had lost a limb.

And...

Some recent news media reports have suggested that the Arabic-language accent heard on the tape was not consistent with the part of Jordan where Mr. Zarqawi originated. A C.I.A. official would not say exactly how the agency had made its assessment, but indicated that the voice pattern and regional accent heard on the tape had both contributed to the assessment of a "high probability" that it was Mr. Zarqawi speaking.

I think most will agree that neither of these sources are exactly shills for the Bush Administration.

You're right about that...I visited the link purporting to show that the Osama tape is fake. Yikes. I would expect better research skills from most fifth graders--the one good thing about websites like that is that they allow you to evaluate the credibility of people making arguments. Anyone who'd believe shlock like that is simply too far gone.

By whose analysis? Note how his left shoulder is always lower than his right, and he always bears all his weight on the left leg. I dont know which leg he is supposed to have off, but I think it is highly likely that the knifer
has a prosthetic right leg.
