Sarin, Mustard Gas Discovered Separately in Iraq (no WMD, huh?)
FNC ^ | 5-17-04

A roadside bomb containing sarin nerve agent (search) recently exploded near a U.S. military convoy, the U.S. military said Monday.

Bush administration officials told Fox News that mustard gas (search) was also recently discovered.

Two people were treated for "minor exposure" after the sarin incident but no serious injuries were reported. Soldiers transporting the shell for inspection suffered symptoms consistent with low-level chemical exposure, which is what led to the discovery, a U.S. official told Fox News.

"The Iraqi Survey Group confirmed today that a 155-millimeter artillery round containing sarin nerve agent had been found," Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt (search), the chief military spokesman in Iraq, told reporters in Baghdad. "The round had been rigged as an IED (improvised explosive device) which was discovered by a U.S. force convoy."

"Shhhhhhh...........don't tell the media."

Not to worry, because we know they won't bother to tell us.

Well, one media outlet is telling the world about it....FOX. Just got home and they were in the middle of a story about it and the dude that Shep was interviewing said it was indeed WMDs!.

Also, on the top of the hour, ABC news on the radio, were telling people about it. I WAS IN SHOCK! I couldn't believe they kept repeating it every 30 minutes.

It will be funny to watch all those dims run for cover and spin this to their advantage. Lots of callers on Beck's and Rush's show fed up with the prison fiasco. They are TIRED of the story and want to move on. Heck, there were even dims calling in (that support the war) saying that this story was waaaayyyyy overblown.

It's great that we are not the only ones that hate the media. lol

Ahh...no! I'm arguing the specific 45 minute threat warning that I responded to. Thanks for playing, though.

"Everybody knows that Saddam wouldn't give any of his old WMD's to Al Qaeda."

Looks like he gave them to Zarqawi for safe keeping.

BTW, this Zarqawi guy is a chemical weapons expert. He is allegedly behind the Jordan chemical bomb plot that Jordan busted a few weeks back. Just a coincidence he was the al-Qaeda guy in Iraq don't you think?

Let's see, Jordan chemical bomb plot, mustard gas IED, Sarin IED, all in the last 3 weeks or so. Anyone see a trend here???

Why did you bother posting? You cited nothing form Bush.

The stupidity of demoRats is breathtaking, isn't it?? They are so intellectually challenged, it is stunning that they can walk and chew gum at the same time. Whenever I need a good laugh, I go to the DemoRat Underground. They are SO paranoid. One thing they are REALLY good at is spin, and disinformation. Like the commies of the past, war is peace, peace is war. Up is down, down is up. Black is white, white is black. Right is wrong, wrong is right..........

It is amazing that anything they say is taken seriously. They claim their "opinions" to be the facts, and God forbid you should prove them wrong. I used to enjoy debating them. Now, they just have my sympathy, and I ignore them. One thing, however.........when they start having hysterical "hissy fits", you KNOW that we're winning!! You can take that to the bank!!

Oh. I am afraid I haven't heard anyone mention a 45 minute threat. My fault, and my apologies.

Er, yes, I have. I made three quotes; the first from Ari Fleisher, the second from Colin Powell, and the third from George Bush. Sorry if you missed it; try rereading.

I have read your citations. I'm looking for the one where Bush says Iraqi WMDs are an imminent threat.

I'm familiar with the one where he said we shouldn't wait until they were an imminent threat.

You forgot one: Exposed Soldier's families: Our children are paying for the sins of Bush and Rumsfeld. It's their fault our children were exposed to sarin gas.

Yep, and I recall some FReepers also denied the existence of WMD in Iraq. Wonder what they're thinking now.

Not only is this ACTUALLY being reported, the Pentagon has called the development "significant"...........

He referred to Iraq as a ``unique and urgent threat'' (third quote--the one from George Bush ;). Urgent, imminent--I don't see a big difference, but you may.

This makes me wonder what happened a couple weeks ago when members of the Iraqi Survey Group were killed in the explosion. It sounds like Gen. Kimmitt let the cat out of the bag even though the adminstration was keeping things quiet for some reason.

I went to the funeral of one of those soldiers last week. This soldier was solidly behind our country. I have thought about the same thing you have.

"Let's see, Jordan chemical bomb plot, mustard gas IED, Sarin IED, all in the last 3 weeks or so. Anyone see a trend here???"

Don't forget the N. Korean train that exploded and had Syrians on board. While details are still sketchy, the explosion was worst in that section of the train...and rescuers were wearing de-con suits.

Try looking in a dictionary. Bush was very clear and concrete about the threat.

My question remains: if you don't have a citation, why bother posting?
