DL yes many of us get baited, and many of us deal with it without being insulting and the area we do have knowledge in does not give the right to come in gungho and patronizing, your friend Jim was not polite and dragged the thread into it
Yes, JP, but he was baited plain and simple. If he was called to the post in a polite way, how do we know he would not have responded politely? And he was not responding to the whole thread, only to those who called him here and were responding to him. We say many things when we are angry. He could have taken the high road and ignored it. But how many of us do that all the time? I sure don't and I am not proud to admit it, but I won't lie! Sometimes I take the sarcastic detour (I try hard not to on this thread though).
JP, I forgot to say that I consider everyone on this thread my friend and there is no one on this thread that I wouldn't stick up for at some point. Every poster here except for the past detractors makes this thread the vast treasury of information and ideas it is. Even when posters disagree from time to time.
But does it give TM posters the right to insult _Jim and then invite him here to see it? That was what started it all. _Jim did not come here and hurl insults by accident, this is my point. Did you backtrack the links? And also, _Jim was not trashing the entire thread; just the posts that brought him here that challenged his view on the blackout. That is all. He appreciates terrorism concerns as much as anyone per his other posts.
Now see what you helped do, nully, your friskiness got JP pissed at me for defending _Jim. I have a soft spot in my heart for most people and it can be a weakness that only gets me in trouble! So many times I restrained myself from butting in and adding my 2 cents when feathers got ruffled on this thread, but I couldn't resist today with _Jim. I am a pacifist, a volatile pacifist, but a pacifist nonetheless. :)
