A Couple of posts from Time Bomb 2000:

[SCI] Worst Outbreak of Storms Across Central U.S. - Saturday 5/29!

"This weekend may be the worst outbreak of severe weather for the entire year..." - The WX Channel

I just caught the tail end of the Storm Watch section that always comes on at 50 after the hour on The Weather Channel.

The Meteorologist was discussing a super strong weather system that is coming in from the Pacific and it is likely going to cause outbreak of very severe storms across Midwest USA from Texas all the way north towards Canada border.

He said that these storms should be forming in that area by Saturday and it could be widespread! He thought this outbreak would be very, very bad and emphasized that this thing could bring the worst storms for entire year (WOW).

So keep this in mind as you make plans and stay safe!

We are getting line of severe storms right now across the DFW area of North Central Texas and are under warnings and watches. No Tornados have touched down here so far.

Sunday will be the worst, all the way from the IL/WI border straight South through to Texas with the mid-point of the KY/IL/IN/MO area being under the greatest threat risk.

Skywarn has given us a heads up that we will definitely see skywarn activation this weekend across a wide swath of the Midwest.

Models are looking worse and worse with already-in-place moisture levels and daytime surface heating sending it skyward with the lift the new Low will bring with the cold front. Add to that both the mid-level jet and high jet with the trough and you will have any thunderstorms turn with height and that means rotation and trouble across a WIDE swath of whatever squall lines develop in front of both the warm and cold fronts.

Think INCREDIBLE hail, massive wind damage from gust fronts, downdraft micro and macrobursts and flooding torrential rains from training.

One discussion has this weekend being the potentially worst tornado outbreak since the April 1974 outbreak, and the data is pointing towards something that could potentially be even worse than 324 tornadoes in two days time from this Saturday through Sunday night.

So, you folks in IA, WI, IL, IN, MO, KS, OK, KY, TN, AR, MS, and TX keep yer eyes peeled to the sky and keep an NOAA weather radio nearby - you can get them at any Walmart or Radio Shack.

If threatening weather approaches, don't mess around - get indoors and underground or close to earth as you can with as many walls between you and a tornado and under a heavy table or desk.

Don't be hero and DRIVE through a massive thunderstorm this weekend. Large hail will make short work of your windows and flash flooding could make you a drowning victim.

If these storms develop as I suspect, in MANY, MANY cases any tornadoes will be wrapped in rain, and therefore potentially more deadly as the typical sight of a funnel or wall cloud can be obscured.

Hear a roar or freight train sound, and you're in in the midwest this weekend, assume that it's a tornado and take cover.

Maybe God is going to show us the difference between a hokey Hollywood disaster movie and what He can do without a large special effects budget.

Be warned Midwesterners, things are shaping up to be potentially deadly and dangerous this weekend.
