Once when the house was fumigated for termites, we took the cats and stayed in a local motel for a few days. Another time, we had out of town guests, so we stayed in the motel and turned the house over to the guests.
As such, your motel registration matched the number of guests in the room, you weren't being loud and disruptive and you weren't cooking meth. Presumably, your license plate wouldn't be associated with multiple prior criminal involvements and you probably had no outstanding warrants. Nothing to see or investigate.
