Lurker here. I am getting increasingly worried and paranoid about the threat level.
My daughter's friend, who is 17, has been seeing a 22 year old young man. He works at a global cellular kiosk at a large well-known mall. He went missing for the last several weeks. His co-workers, who he lives with, wouldn't tell her where he was. I need to add that he and his co-workers are all supposedly Europeans. He came to our area five months ago from NYC where he was a student. He came with his foreigner friends and they work at this cellphone kiosk. He says he is French, but he appears to be Arabic. Before coming to the US, he was most recently living in Azerbaijan. He also has lived in Russia and France.
His kiosk pals told her that he was doing something important and he would be back. When a friend of hers took a picture of him, he became irate and told her it must never happen again. Yesterday he finally called her, and said he would never see her again. He then explained that he was under house arrest. Then he told her he wouldn't be returning to the mall. He told her he was leaving our state to go back to NYC. (Is that possible if he is under house arrest?).
Is this creepy, or have I succumbed to reading too much news?

Were I in your shoes, I'd contact the local FBI etc. and make sure they had his picture. I'd tell them everything I knew.

THIS is exactly what the press conference said, all police will be glad to field more calls, they have had upwards near 1000 tips since yesterday.

The house arrest could be from his own group. One of the guys arrested in Jordan with the truck bombs to kill 80,000 people said he was unable to leave the house where they were putting the explosive/chem bombs together because the terrorist group did not want anyone leaking or slipping up or giving any clues about what they were doing.

As others have said, he could be Tunisian or Algerian, but he may be Moroccan also. They speak French all over the place in N. Africa.

I hope you'll get this info to people who will listen, don't stop till someone expresses an interest in checking this out.
