Eastbound Sunset Limited, Train 2(26MAY) was delayed on departure from Los Angeles, initially account late turn from Train 1, which was 6 hr 48 min late. Consist was released from yards to LAUPT 1 hr 45 min late and boarding commenced.

During boarding, crew received a report that a passenger was acting strange, saying that he builds bombs. Train completed boarding at 1215am but was held for investigation by Amtrak and Los Angeles Police, who located and questioned the passenger, and discovered his traveling companion was unaccounted for but had left a bag on the train. Amtrak police dog checked the bag and then the entire train, finding nothing else. Passenger was removed and detained, his bag and the missing passenger's were removed by LAPD, train departed at 215am.
