There was no doubt to me about which body was the sun. Being a ham, I have done some studies into the sun because of the way the sun affects radio wave propagation here on Earth. I have seen those SOHO pictures of Sol plenty of times and know that it what is in the OBL/Mushroom Cloud picture. If that other body is indeed Venus, that maybe an interesting sign.
I believe Venus revolves like the moon, it shows the same 'face' to us and has a 'dark side'- try turning your Drudge Report picture upside-down. The 'eye' crater has disappeared but the landmark on the left seems to have a similar shape.
