I believe Venus revolves like the moon, it shows the same 'face' to us and has a 'dark side'- try turning your Drudge Report picture upside-down. The 'eye' crater has disappeared but the landmark on the left seems to have a similar shape.
From our point of view on Earth, there are three bodies that have a crescent when we view them: Mercury, Venus and Luna. Of course from a different vantage point (such as a space probe) every planet and moon will show a dark side.
