On March 7, the pro-Bush website FreeRepublic.com published a list of “enemies” who were opposing the US occupation of Iraq. Among the names, taken from a public list of people who had endorsed a planned March 20 antiwar demonstration on the website of the group ANSWER, was Michael Berg—Nick’s father—and the name of the Berg family company. Such information would be entered into the databases of US intelligence agencies as well.

Do US intelligence agencies enter FR info into databases?

For people who claim that rightys engage in conspiracy theories, it appears we don't hold a candle to the filberts who infest the left side of the political spectrum. Like all leftist scribblers, Conachy does a poor job of hiding his hatred for America. You simply can't take these nuts seriously.

The article published by the Tehran Times was lifted from the World Socialist Website.

I think we're making an impact :-)

I don't know. But, I bet that they have been watching ANSWER closely. No FR needed. But, FR makes a great scapegoat.

when he reported he was looking to leave Iraq via Kuwait as soon as it was safe enough. They have indicated Berg told them he was wary of trying to fly out to Jordan on the grounds it was too dangerous.

I thought the reports earlier were just the opposite: Berg was offered flights TO Kuwait but refused because he wanted to go to Jordan by vehicle.

All leftists should go over to Iraq and try to meet up with some Al Queda types. See what happens.

But Michael Berg filed a lawsuit and Nick was apparently released the next day. So Nick, apparently, was on his own. [Daddy Berg neglects to mention that.]

The America-hating liberals of this country can't stand that the execution of Nick Berg completely undermined their quest to undermine President Bush. And it was a strategic error by the terrorists, no doubt about it.

So, the liberals suggest that this execution was actually conducted by the Americans. Like that insanity is going to fly with the American public...

Yo Moron -- if Doug can find the listing publicly posted on ANSWER's website, what makes you think the Fibbies didn't already have it? Doug's notes were made in what -- January, 3004; the Fibbies investigated Berg and his connections -- inluding his father's connection to ANSWER TWO YEARS AGO. I don't buy that the Fibbies are that incompetant.

[The moron is the scribe of this screed, not the messenger. :^)]

Is this the same James Conachy who has been feeding so much information to the Israelis? I hear the Israelis have very happy with the stuff he's supplied up until this past week. The targeting stuff he provided on the guy in Gaza, the one they tried to get in the past couple of days and used four missles on, was far enough off that they now think Hamas might be paying him, as well.

Those spouting 'the list' neglect to mention that 'the list' was public information, on ANSWER's website, a few months ago (IIRC).

Wayback Machine probably has it, if anyone bothered to check it.

Were Berg’s murderers being directly paid by the American government, they could not have performed a more timely service for the Bush White House.

What a worthless a**hole!

...
Berg was seized on March 24, within one week of returning to Iraq

Wow, we have an Post hoc fallacy ("A then B, ergo A caused B") and that the terrorists somehow were on guard to capture someone on a list posted on FR. Coupled with the fact that if you want to advance your cause you don't kill someone's dad that's sympathic to yours. So three problems in a matter of a couple dozen words.
