Interesting the article does not make the point that the Muslim extremists who sawed off Nick Berg's head are responsible.

If responsibility does not lie with the people performing the action, then his father is to blame for raising a naive son. An unarmed/unescorted Jewish American in a Muslim country during a time of War is more than incredible, it's stupid. If his father had not demanded his son's immediate release from safety into a war zone, it is possible his son would have been shipped out of country.

Ya know, I'm not sure about his use of language in the emails. The wordings is a bit off and at times sounds as if English isn't the writer's native language. 78 posted on 05/15/2004 10:59:02 PM CDT by mtbopfuyn

"At the height of a massive scandal engulfing the Bush administration, "

I've been keeping up with the news well, but what massive scandal?

Do they mean that UN oil-for-food money ended up in the Bush administration???

It cant be that matter of a few guards humilation of some Iraqi prisoners. That was properly dealt with.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

"The Bush administration and elements of the American military hierarchy, media and corporate establishment are indictable war criminals. "

oh.

We ban trolls for saying stuff far far tamer than this lie...

Urban legends are starting...A teacher at my school thought the CIA killed him to cover up the prison scandal. "

NO. That teacher doesnt think that. That teacher is an Bush-hating liar who will take a slander and repeat to hurt a politician and cause (the CIA) the teacher dislikes.

Sad, really.

I only read the first three lines. More 'the jews/cia/USA did it,' right?

Why are these people so overjoyed with it on one hand and refuse credit for it on the other?

>>Who IS responsible for Nick Berg's death:
1. Radical fundamentalist terrorists. <<

IMHO, should be changed to read:
"Who IS responsible for Nick Berg's death:
1. Radical ISLAMIC fundamentalist terrorists. "

Just thought I'd mention this. . .

I thought it was worth examining as it was published in the Tehran Times. If it were published only in the socialist publication where it orignated from then I would not deem it appropriate for FR.

Do we know for sure that Berg's lawsuit is the reason Nick was released? Could it have been just a coincidence?

What is sad, is the kids. I'm just a substitute, but I see so much dumbing down that it is crippling our future. We might have "No child left behind", but the parents do not want to get involved with their childrens education. I work in a low income area. We had to pledge alliance to the flag this morning and most of students just sat in thier chairs or just hestitated and look around afraid. Out of curiosity, I asked the students why they didn't want to say the pledge. I was hoping to hear they are Jovah Witnesses or some other religious affiliation. No, it was the left wing rant. A girl screamed out that this country is no good and people don't have equal rights...blah...blah. They were surprised they had a Bush supporter as a substitute. I asked her, if she doesn't like it here...why doesn't she move? The kids giggled. I told them they are spoiled and take their freedoms for granted. My husband port of call was Istanbul,Turkey. Don't poke fun at statues of historical leaders or you could be arrested. If your a student in Iran protesting against the establishment, you might go to jail. She blamed Bush for the War in Iraq. We should be helping our own people who don't have anything and not spend the money on the Iraqis. I told her, if we don't help the Iraqi's the terrorist will be at our shores again to bomb us to financial ruin with no social programs. Pretty soon they were chanting KKK and all the sterotypes they give to Republicans. They were just acting silly. I started to ask very simple questions about our society. Do you like to shop? If the terrorist damage our infrastruture then we are not able to get consumer goods or food. We depend on shipping, our ports and trucking. How would you like to wait in line for loaf of bread? They told me they wait in line in the school cafeteria. Do you like your Nike shoes? I like to buy my Nike shoes and I want them when I demand them. I asked them how would they handle if the terrorist attacked like they did on 911 but with more destruction, how would they cope with the slaughter? Some kids listen but most were oblivious to anything harmful. These kids take everything for granted and do not appreciate all the freedoms we do have. Freedom without appreciation is the death of our nation.
I did help a kid today. He was having problems with his Algebra and we worked it out. He felt so good tackling all his problems and getting the problems right! A little elbow grease goes a long way.

Your comments about kids scare me.

It is sad that kids are like this.

We must be doing something absolutely amazing with our kids. They are 8 and 6 and (so far) are nothing like that.
Thankfully, my wife and I are both resolved to raise good moral, non-bratty, non-liberal kids. Both got straight As this year... So far so good. :-)

Boys - listen up a little, ok?

Do some research at www.google.com. Read around that site. Learn how to really find what you're looking for. You can do it. One can search google and find just about anything you want to.

Preferences.

(Just a thought... a teacher at my school... 'the CIA killed him'"

Huh? What kind of teacher is that?????)
- hey bud, your teacher is on crack or something.
