Could you explain what's similar in detail? I'm asserting that the Democrats are trying to regain some control over the military by politicizing an issue. I disagree with that tactic, but I think it's a harbinger of what is to come. Do you disagree?

"U. S. Journalist wants...Editors believe..."

Here we have a secondhand story told about an un-named U.S. Journalist, and a unidentified editor(s) who "believe" the failure of the war will doom Bush.

Liberals favorite words are:

I want
I believe
I feel
Could
Might
Could possibly
IF
and...
It's Bush's fault.

Well, Mr. U.S. Journalist, I don't believe you WANT the war to fail...ask the reporters at Al Jazzera (sp?) how much fun it is to work at a "state controlled" media outlet.

You are helping the Islamist, Muslims, socialists, and leftists erode our rights...but...what about when they get to YOUR rights...you know, the "freedom of the press" thing.

You don't really believe that when they finish destroying the Constitution that they'll leave your RIGHTS in for being such nice guys, do you?

I hope, if the worst happens, at least I'll be around to laugh at your dumb asses as we all stand in the bread lines...er, excuse me, I meant the "be-heading" lines.

As the old saying goes, Mr/Ms. U.S. Journalist..."want in one hand, and you-know-what in the other...and see which one gets cut off first"...well, paraphrased for the Terrorists favorite pasttime of cutting something off.

Unfortunately the DO want the US and Iraqi's to fail as they think this will get rid of bush. They really do believe that the ends justify the means, something Clinton was famous for! They believe if they do it it is okay cause it is in everyone's best interest.

The leftists hate the military just slightly less than they hate GW Bush.

Exactly - they would disband it altogether if it didn't offer them a forum for their social experiments (feminism, gay rights, etc.)

Even most of the people in the prominent sports media, who probably don't know who the vice-president is, despise Bush and wish for almost anything that would end his presidency.

Please give me your insight here. Do you have any explanation for the rabid hatred of GWB? It just baffles me. I truly don't understand it. Is it because he stands for old-fashioned morals and they feel threatened by that because they live immoral lives?

I think it is because he is "nuanced" - meaning he sticks to what he believes. I think the morals issue is just a part of that. They think his morals are "evil" because they don't allow everyone to do what ever they want - weather moral or immoral (as you put it, "their immoral lives.").

Good choice, if she writes for a magazine. Christianne is the most anti-American and anti-Israeli I can think of. This person from Vanity Fair-what is a VF writer doing in Iraq? I thought VF a fashion mag. I don't read it, so don't know.

I thought it was up around 100 million these days. Regardless - Even 1/10 of that would be a formidable force.

...American magazine journalist of serious accomplishment and impeccable liberal credentials

What would you expect from someone like that?

I don't think I ever said that liberal journalists didn't want to see Bush fail. I absolutely concede that point.

I think my comment ... and it may have been in another thread, these are all running together ... is that while I think the media would slant the news, they would not deliberately publish falsehoods and that something like the deal with the Boston Globe is more a case of a screwup by a collection of editors who may very well have had the thought in their brains, "this is going to really screw Bush," but who I seriously doubt said, "we're going to deliberately take these fake photos and knowing full well that they're fake, we're going to run them in a deliberate effort to screw Bush."

You know why they're not going to deliberately run falsehoods? Because there are too many places like this very forum who can instantaneously call them on it (praise God for the Internet).

Your comments deserve some thought -- I'll respond when I can offer more than "good point, I kind of agree with that"

Here's my guess: Vivienne Walt-Time Magazine

Here's a google search result that quickly shows she's anti-war and liberal.
http://ms101.mysearch.com/jsp/GGmain.jsp?searchfor=Vivienne+Walt

I saw her interviewed by Geraldo on Fox tonight. She was reporting from Baghdad. She said explosions are so common in Baghdad these days that when she was tossed out of bed at 7am this morning by an explosion, she didn't even go out to take a look. She said explosions are all too common in Baghdad now and mostly go unexplained. She said the fighting with Al-Sadr is too close and she sees billows of smoke rising from that direction all the time.

It was the most lefty, negative reporting I've seen on Fox from Iraq. Her overall theme seemed to be how bad it was there. It's the only time I've ever seen this Vivienne Walt. Never heard of her before. The negative reporting caught my ear and then I thought about this thread after Geraldo mentioned her creds as commonly held in high regard...he used the word prestigous, I think.

I've heard a timeline mentioned on this thread, but seem to have missed exactly what it is...anyone know? What time frame would this un-named female, US mag reporter have been in Iraq?

Believe me, the major media boasts the most arrogant group of people in our culture. You'd be surprised at how stupid most of them are...

Same too for academia

In one of the links on the google search results is an interview Walt did with CNN about President Bush's Thanksgiving in Iraq. She was there for the event. She managed to make it a negative report.

In the end, that battle has already been won. It is just a question of who is on which side when the curtain falls.
