[BitPig] No War But Total War

[In a message to this journal sent earlier today, a good friend of mine expressed the opinion that the U.S. personnel who tortured their Iraqi captives were ultimately culpable for the brutal decapitation of 26-year-old American civilian Nick Berg by Islamic terrorists.

Needless to say, I took issue with his analysis. My response is below. — BitPig]

For shame. I expected better of you.

Let us examine the differences between the U.S. personnel who tortured their Iraqi prisoners and the Islamic terrorists who murdered Mr. Berg earlier today.

• The murdering bastards who killed Mr. Berg cut a civilian's throat. Our prison staffers psychologically tortured a small number of enemy military prisoners.

• The Iraqi “victims” are all still alive. Mr. Berg is dead, dead, dead.

• The Iraqis are all likely going to go home to their families eventually. All Mr. Berg’s family will get is their son’s headless corpse.

• The Iraqi prisoners were actively trying to kill our men and women. Mr. Berg was trying to rebuild the country his killers came from.

Notice the difference?

Opponents of war crow loudly about the lack of mercy amidst the horror and bloodshed. Well, let them crow, I say. When it comes to a battle for survival, a moral man can show no mercy towards the enemy; in the mad mathematics of war, mercy equals cruelty. The only moral way to fight a war is to do so as fiercely and as brutally as possible in order to end it quickly. Halfheartedness is war only prolongs the agony for the innocent and encourages the guilty to continue fighting.

Some say we shouldn’t be over there because the Iraqis don’t like us. Well, I say eff the Iraqis who don't like us, and furthermore eff those Americans who are too blinded by ideology to realize that we are in a battle for our survival. We should wage merciless total war on anyone who dares raise a hand to us, and get the dying and suffering over with as quickly as possible.

At times like this, I find myself fighting not to give in to hatred. Rationally, I know it is morally wrong to wish ill for any person or people, but after seeing a pack of masked killers slitting my countryman’s throat and then crowing over his pitiful, desecrated body, the thought of wave after wave of U.S. bombers blasting Iraqi cities into rubble, Dresden style, and then napalming and neutron-bombing the ashes until thay are as sterile as an autoclave develops a certain appeal.

May God forgive my black heart!

As a Christian, I am also forced to pray for God's blessings upon the killers of Mr. Berg: may He bless them with the stark, arctic chill of guilt that they deserve, and with the spiritual strength to submit themselves to His justice for the sake of their souls.

Finally, as for the soul of Mr. Berg — and for his suffering loved ones — we can only hope that God will comfort them.

Enough pussyfooting around. If the choice comes down to using a neutron bomb or losing the war, we should use the neutron bomb, or any other means at our disposal, to win. The lesson of history is clear: no war but total war.

In the modern world, where a small group of men can gain the power to kill a nation, every war is a battle for our survival. Let’s fight to win!

That kind of sucks:

"I'm too ashamed to go to my home town, so instead, I'll go to America."

"Our prison staffers psychologically tortured a small number of enemy military prisoners."

You may wish to strengthen that argument by identifying the prisoners correctly as "illegal combatants without rights according to the Geneva Convention." If my understanding is correct, failure to wear a uniform alone qualifies you for on-the-spot hanging.

Yes they are. Real Americans are up to it. The rest can go to the countries that are safe from terrorists.

I agree wholeheartedly, but our leaders no longer have the will or spine to fight real war. They've become utterly seduced by the Surgical Strike Doctrine. Not only are we determined to hurt no innocents, we only hurt the worst of the bad guys, with our leaders somehow convinced that the rest of the bad guys are gonna see how nice we are and decide to like us. Sheer idiocy, but that's where we are.

Know why insurgents keep flaring up in Iraq? Because the Iraqi population has no fear of us. No matter what we do, we're not gonna hurt them and they know it. Makes it so much easier for them to stick the knife in our back.

This nonsense will sadly continue, and I'm afraid that the result will eventually be a WMD detonated on American soil. Rest assured our enemies are trying hard to get one and get it in place. And since our leaders refuse to wipe out our enemies, I fear they'll succeed in the end.

EVERYBODY needs to calm down and be cool! We did not go to Iraq to find WMDs or to spread democracy or to find Al Quidamentos. We went there to establish a semi-stable military platform from which to launch our eventual invasion of Iran/Syria/Saudi Arabia et al in this multi-decade war on pre-reformation Islam, a centuries overdue crusade (yes, that word!)against a deathcult that threatens the enlightened world! This "total war" we are in is better known in prophesey as Armegedon and, like it or not, there will be no peace in most of our life-times save that which the Lord provides when the victory is in His hand!

You sound like a bloodthirsty madman

Sorry, but Osama beat me to that. I am simply being realistic. We are never going to make Islamists into democrats and that was never our aim in Iraq. The "axis of evil" is our target and to "get them" we had to "get there"! Well, we're there and as soon as we can pacify the environment we're moving on to one or more of the other state sponsors of terror in the region. Whether we use covert or overt ops to achive our goals, in the grand scheme of things, we will be fighting the "new nazi menace" of Islamism for many many years to come. We will not be leaving this arena soon, my friend, and if you think we can without reaping the whirlwinds of increased terror for showing weakness to these bastards then YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS NUTS!
