Liberal Democrats and the Left-Wing Media are Responsible for Nick Berg's Death -- and Should Apologize
In their quasi-religious zeal to tar the Bush administration for mere political gain, the media outlets that released and hyped photos of the prisoner "abuse," and the liberal Democrat politicians who heinously fed the frenzy, are directly responsible for the beheading of Nick Berg. This is what happens when liberal zealots irresponsibly put politics above reason, logic, and humanity.
All reports on the gruesome beheading aver that the killing was "vengeance" for the Iraqi prison "abuse." And, of course, the killers who executed this atrocity are directly blameworthy as well. However, if certain liberal politicians and left-wing media leaders had let the prison problems play themselves out through the proper channels (the military legal system), which was already happening, instead of seizing on this as a political issue and manufacturing a "scandal," Mr. Berg would probably be alive today. This is disgraceful and shameful -- and inexcusable.
Will they apologize for being the "but for" cause of Mr. Berg's death? Probably not. Probably never. They will demand apologies from the President and members of his cabinet right and left, on highly questionable grounds and merits, but when they commit a blatant and inexcusable wrong like this themselves, the same grovel-merchants will never admit their own sins -- no less apologize for them.
These people have no soul and no feeling; they crave power, and they will do anything to get it... even if it means the beheading of our own citizens. There is no price these people will not pay to satiate their megalomania. John Kerry has sunk so low as to use the prison issue in a fund raising letter. These people are horrid, power-hungry wretches.
And they will never apologize -- nor will they hold the "religion of peace" responsible for the few monsters they have spawned.

Don't know what happened after April 6th but...
In March the Iraqi's picked Berg up in Mosul and got all his vital information (where he was staying, nationality, etc.) then turned him over to the MPs. Any bets the terrorists were given his hotel location by Iraqi "police"? Probably a reward for information leading to unguarded Americans.
Anyway, the US had him in what should have been considered protective custody for 13 days. Right up until his parents sprung him by filing a lawsuit against the USA in a PA federal court on April 5th. He was released the next day and the Bergs withdrew their lawsuit on April 9th.
Terrorist were probably living in his hotel room in Baghdad waiting for him by the time he got there

60 Minutes is responsible for his tragic death. Don't watch 60 minutes. Get the rest of America not to view it again!

The libs and the terrorists are virtually indistinguishable.
Both hate Bush, both are control freaks, both want the USA to suffer as much as possible, both hate the US military, neither are bothered by seeing Americans die, neither sees Saddam as any threat, etc.

Our liberal media elected politicans are aiding and abetting Al Qaeda's stated goal of interfering in our electoral process. In their prusuit of power, they have become an active terrorist cell that functions within our own government. What they have done and what they have caused, there is no adequate punishment for.

Bump, and thanks for the ping. Of course they'll apologize. "I'm sorry that you made me do this to you". That kind of apology.
Very well written rant, btw :-)

RIGHT ON! They MUST be held accountable for their actions! Nick Berg died because of the political grandstanding of certain Democrat Senators, John Kerry and the so called "news" media. They just cannot seem to come to grips with the reality that we are at war!

I called "the swimmer's" office today.and said that he has blood on his hands, and even though most people don't listen to the old sot the terrorists do,and that is why Nick Berg is dead. Kennedy provided the excuse with his lies, and hate speech. I had heard rumors about Kennedy having undergone a liver transplant, and I blurted it out to his ditsy aide that I knew he had one recently, and she admitted it. I told her that that is why I will not be a donor, and why I won't sign on my driver's license to be a donor. That filthy scum has some poor schlub's liver in him,and kennedy creates more death and destruction, while decent people wait for their transplants.

Great Article. I'd add that some of the loud mouth but wimpy Republicans should crawl back under their rocks today. Until we start to hear the truth about the muslims and demand more action from the Arab world...we will have more of the same. I'd like to hear the congress get off the mistreatment of the criminals at the prison and focus on how we kick butt in the middle east and finish the fight quickly with all we've got.
To: jmstein7
Look, I think the press bears a LOT of the responsibility for what happened.
Their defense (and I heard it today from nearly every talking head, even Fred Barnes on Fox, whom I respect immensley) is that "Al Qaeda is bad anyway, this is who they are. They don't need an excuse." All of that is true. But you know what? The publishing of the photos was the vehicle for an excuse. Nick apparently disappeard April 9...long before the photos became public. After the photos were published, he was apparently murdered. No one can say whether he would've been murdered if those photos hadn't been published: some hostages have escaped, others have been freed, right?
Fred Barnes points out the publishing of photos are violations of the Geneva convention. I want to point out the publishing puts our troops in even greater peril. Who knows how this might affect the otherwise good efforts of our noble soldiers?
No, my friends, the publishing of these photos by CBS and The New Yorker is nothing less than disastrous for our efforts to make a peaceful Middle East. You want to find irresponsibility? Look no further than the broadcasting and publishing behemoths that crave an extra rating point more than they desire to see American soldiers survive.

Yes well said.
You know those of you that post "Nuke 'em" and other violent phrases I shake my head and think that is no way to respond guys....
Well this beheading was the last straw for me! I am so sick of it.
I pray because that is all I know what to do, I am not pro violence.
I strongly believe in self defense even if it means taking a life to protect mine or KV's.
Even at that I would feel sick hurting anyone even in self defense.
God forgive me but I have had it
