Taguba is impressive. He's saying that some of the people in question invoked their article 31 and 5th amendment rights when they were questioned about the allegations. (This was also in the 50 page taguba report.)

My wife and I were in Atlanta last week, and she went off on a long rant about how damn confusing it is to have peachtree road, lane, ave, drive, parkway, etc. Her opinion is that Atlantans need a little help in creativity in naming streets.

I think it is a Peachtree-conspiracy, designed to force newcomers to lose their mind, and adopt southern ways as a means of survival. You have to be a sweet, kind southerner if you cant go two blocks without asking for directions. I've already picked up a bit of a NASCAR twang in my voice.

Taguba just mentioned that the battalion commander of the 327th(?) MP battalion - the reserve MP's at the center of this - refused to be interviewed. He took the 5th.

Hadn't heard that before.

Tagabu seems to have real "issues" with Karpinsky--his face reveals his dislike for her and I think his testimony suggests she was really not competent.

Thanks I hadn't read that. I think there will be a call to investigate higher than Karpinski now that Taguba has testified that is all the higher he talked to.

I think its obvious they named half the streets "peachtree" in case Sherman ever came back down south...they wanted to confuse him.....(grin)
