On Fox a few minutes ago, Mark Ginsburg said that Fox is the only media broadcasting the hearings that is seen in Iraq without the 'Arab filter'
Heard that too. He named CNN, MSNBC and Al Jazeera in the same breath (lol) as filtering their news and told FNC that they were doing a great service of getting the real story out there to the Arab publc.

That's good to know about Fox.

at start of business, Warner put up 5 names of people for committee nomination to various positions at the pentagon, unrelated to this hearing. It was seconded, but McCain had an objection because he hasn't received information on something dealing with Boeing. McCain is not holding up the process, just noting his objection.

I can just see it now on November 3.
Media: "Abu what? Prison who? Abuse when? That's yesterday's news. OK. How much do you want to pay us to run your story? We might be able to fit it in section C page 17 if it's not too big."

Sidenote: Notice how all 'pressure', attention, heat, press coverage, interest has moved from the 9-11 Commission to the Iraqi Prison Abuse coverage? That and the UN Food for Oil Bribes too
And gee unlike these stupid bleeping bleep senators .. we didn't need photos to figure that out

Of course...but the politics is al on the Dems' side, and it's gonna cause them HUGE problems..1/3-1/2 of the dem constituency is hard-core, hard-left, anti-war..that group is going to try to expand this to a blanket indictment of the US military..look at Teddy Swimmer's comment yesterday that the "torture chambers of saddam have been reopened"...the Dems will go waaay to fay.. and shoot themselves in the foot..

Thanks for the ping. I see the Senators spent the day (and our taxpayer money) yesterday, writing their speeches.

(So Hillary, how DID you know about the descriptions of the abuse before Rumsfeld did? Hmmmmmmmmm??)
To: TomGuy
NBC, but not ABC and CBS, are showing this live. I wonder if ABC and CBS will cut in if it gets really gory?
I'm watching on C-Span, but it will end if House comes in.

That WAS good! I don't trust Ginsburg on many issues, though.

Take a guess. how many Dem senators today will call on Rummy to resign? and will someone, anyone, smack down Dayton for hsi grandstanding about "supressing the story", when it turns out that he knew about it months ago...

The House doesn't meet today until 12:30est, this will be done by then.
To: ken5050
Kennedy will. Hillary will keep her trap shut, letting Kennedy bloviate for her.
I think Dayton better be quiet, or someone might bring it up.
