Fox News reporter, Kelly, in Iraq saw the video of the American being BEHEADED. He said it was like an ANIMAL being murdered.

******

The family of Berg, 26, of West Chester, Pa., said they were informed by the U.S. State Department on Monday that Berg was found dead near a highway overpass in Baghdad.
Berg’s mother, Suzanne Berg, said her son was in Iraq as an independent businessman to help rebuild communication antennas. He had been missing since April 9, she said.
“He had this idea that he could help rebuild the infrastructure,” she said.

The U.S. military Tuesday said an American civilian was found dead in Baghdad, but did not release his identity. State Department spokeswoman Susan Pittman said she couldn’t release the name of the dead American, but said she not aware of more than one civilian found dead in recent days.
The military said there were signs of trauma to the body. Suzanne Berg said she was told her son’s death was violent but did not want to discuss details.
Berg, who was in Baghdad from late December to Feb. 1, returned to Iraq in March. He didn’t find any work and planned again to return home on March 30, but his daily communications home stopped on March 24. He later told his parents he was jailed by Iraqi officials at a checkpoint in Mosul.
“He was arrested and held without due process,” his father, Michael Berg, told the Daily Local News of West Chester recently. “By the time he got out the whole area was inflamed with violence.
The FBI on March 31 interviewed Berg’s parents in West Chester. Jerri Williams, a spokeswoman for the Philadelphia FBI office, told The Philadelphia Inquirer the agency had been “asked to interview the parents regarding Mr. Berg’s purpose in Iraq.”

OMG! Fox News is showing his photo before he is murdered!!!

The video bore the title "Abu Musab al-Zarqawi shown slaughtering an American." It was unclear whether Zarqawi -- a lieutenant of Osama bin Laden -- was shown in the video, or was claiming responsibility for ordering the execution.

THANK YOU CBS AND DEMOCRATS!!!

I think the dems have been snookered once again. They touted The Taguba Report as damning to Rumsfeld. Seymour Hersh even called General Taguba "fearless" for his honest, hard-hitting report. Hah!!

Rush has just been talking about the Democrats "over-reaching" in their attempt to harm the Bush Administration. Yes that's true but I wish Rush had gone further, reminding us how our "over-reaching" to get Clinton, hurt our cause. We need to be reminded of our own mistakes so we don't repeat them.

I've got to say, it's delightful to watch the democrats doing all the things we did wrong in our quest to oust Clinton.

And once again President Bush "tricked" democrats into going over the top in their attacks. Bush went out front yesterday and man oh man did he support Rumsfeld! LIke a Mama Tiger protecting her young!! Well folks, he wouldn't have done that if The Taguba Report blamed Rummy or the Pentagon higher ups for the prison abuses.

The test will be if CBS, ABC, NBC shows this. Not the beheading, but just mentions it. THIS may be the start of an UPROAR of the American people, that will ...

TURN THE MOOD of the country. (well, it could happen.)

For crying out loud! These will be Coalition forces.

I hope you're right, but I doubt it.

The general was precise with his words. He said a third country, not the usual way to refer to coalition forces.

Furthermore, which coalition country would have such as plethora of Arabic speakers to supply interpreters to its own forces and still afford to share interpreters with the US?

At any rate, anything is possible, and I appreciate your take on this.

The media has overreached, and this killing will be their death knell. They were told that showing the photos would risk lives, and now it has.

An interview with his family said he was a civilian contractor, and did something with radio towers. His family apparently tried to talk him out of going, but he went because he believed in what we're doing in Iraq and wanted to help.

His family has probably already received their copy of the DNC talking points.

Remember, al Qaeda killed W-A-A-A-A-A-Y too many Americans before this prisoner abuse thing atarted for us to fall for the newest firestorm the media and Dems will make from this murder. They'll demean yet another murdered American for political gain. Don't let them.

Who was that b*tch demanding Rummy and Wolfie's resignations for "deriliction of duty"??

Yes, I have it on. I am grieving for his family. Can you just imagine the grief ?

Those bastards. (sorry for language...)

I feel like crying my eyes out for ......everyone. And I fight hatred toward the scum that is going against our President in a time like this. Every member of Congress, Senate and most of all CBS and every network together working uppermost against President Bush.

There are no words grave enough for them.

The video bore the title "Abu Musab al-Zarqawi shown slaughtering an American." It was unclear whether al-Zarqawi — a lieutenant of Usama bin Laden — was shown in the video, or was claiming responsibility for ordering the execution.

The Web site on which the video was posted is known as a clearing house for Al Qaeda and Islamic extremist groups' statements and tapes. An audiotape purportedly from bin Laden — which the CIA said was probably authentic — appeared on the same Web site last week.

Western officials say al-Zarqawi, whose real name is Ahmad Fadhil al-Khalayleh, is a lieutenant of bin Laden. The United States has offered $10 million for information leading to the capture or killing of al-Zarqawi, saying he is trying to build a network of foreign militants in Iraq to work for Al Qaeda.

In the video, the speaker threatened both President Bush and Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf (search).

"As for you Bush ... expect severe days. You and your soldiers will regret the day you stepped into the land of Iraq," he said. He described Musharraf as "a traitor agent."

The 2:00 PM EDT news break on my radio had Daschle picking up Levin's talking point from this morning. They are STILL, despite being told otherwise by the investigating officer, trying to push the scandle further up the chain.

When I heard that he was an independent contractor helping in Iraq, I wondered if he was of the pacifist (anti-American) persuasion. I'm very sorry that he died, and I wonder if his tale will open a few eyes of the pacifists.
