It could also be that, like tornado-chasers, there are some people who just get off on sado-masichism, regardless of their sexual orientation.
We just can't have this stuff. I saw my Catholic Church raked over the coals for covering up sexual abuse, and deservedly so.
It's painful to think that a few in our military think it's just dandy to strip down human beings and beat them, or rape them, or sic dogs on them, or use them for photographic props.
These are deranged SOBs, IMO.
I agree. The good news is that there is no cover up. Our military was already investigating and initiating courts martial for those who perpetrated these crimes, and now even the trials themselves are going to be public. That's rather unlike the trap that the Catholic Church got itself into with its gay clergy (which served to demonstrate that their coverup only exacerbated their problem).
