No there appears to be a correlation between American Soldiers becoming Islamo convertees and then anti Americans.

What is being said behind closed doors by Army Muslim Chaplins and in the mosque/mosque outside the Ft Lewis?

The Spanish are doing this the 1990s Clinton way. Theyve arrested probably most if not all of the bombers, but so what??? How will it prevent the next undected terrorist cell from blowing another target?

It may be time for govts to begin to do what Chile and Argentina did in the 1970s. Thousands of people simply disappear.

His family in Kansas would have no idea if he'd been to Spain. They aren't with him 24/7. His wife is, but there's the marital privilege to get around--and his lawyer is not going to waive that. Law enforcement is going to have to attempt to document his whereabouts for at least a year, maybe more, before 3/11. It isn't a matter whether he was in Spain on 3/11. It's if he had contact with any of the known (and unknown) suspects of 3/11--even second-hand contact.

He doesn't seem to have a thriving law practice. In fact, it doesn't seem to be doing that well at all. Where did he get the money to support his family?

The bombings in Casablanca, Morocco last May were just before an election, too - like the Madrid bombings. In Morocco they wisely postponed the election - something that the Spaniards should have also done.

I think a more aggressive investigation (and even humiliating interrogation) may have led to more arrests following the Casablanca attack, and perhaps could have averted the Madrid tragedy.

The Spanish ninnies have withdrawn from Iraq -- I no longer care what happens to them. I do want the case solved though because it has international ties, leaving everyone around the world vulnerable to another attack.

I wonder if the bag "left" at the airport was meant to be picked up by someone else?

Morocco is a strange place. Its king (most recent king from a 50 year old "dynasty") is a wild card, at one moment wanting to make nice with Europe, but at the same time pursuing his own Muslim fundie agenda. For example, there was the famous Moroccan map that came out a while ago showing the Canary Islands marked in the color of Morocco... He also says that he is under attack by AQ, but it seems to me that he's not really under attack (the Moroccan bombings were aimed at foreign interests) and would actually do whatever was most convenient to him at a given moment. However, he may be doing it at arm's length, that is, providing cover but not to the extent that he or Morocco can be said to be officially involved.

It's not an accident that the terrorists came from Morocco, and I doubt that it was an accident that these Moroccans were visiting the city of the American AQ fan whose fingerprint turned up at the Madrid bombing.

Earlier on FoxNews they stated that he was in security in the military and had a high security clearance. I'll see if I can find anything in print.

Thanks for the ping. I've been monitoring, but didn't have much to add. If his specialty is explosives related or more likely that there is someone in his mosque with access to military detonators, it might be that he is the intermediary. The fact that he wasn't in Spain means little with Fedex.

Of particular note with the Malaysian guy, Yassaf (sp?), it was his wife's family that prodded him into extremism. I would suggest checking Mayfield's wife's family in Egypt which could be promisng. Wouldn't be surprised to find that she has a brother in the Brotherhood.

One other thing I've been wondering about, is that the Spanish detonations were timed and targeted to disrupt the elections. It was part of a greater plan to separate the U.S. from its allies. The calculations behind that move seemed above the al Qaeda way of thinking and more western in understanding. Something a lawyer would understand.

I'd also be checking who he helped as an immigration lawyer, get in and out of the country recently. The Malaysians used a dummy company to get the 20th hijacker in the country.

Mona Mayfield moved to Olympia, Washington as a child, according to one report. I'll check the Olympian newspaper.

This is a islamic yellow pages. Under "attorneys" both Nelson and Mayfield are listed. This is for the entire country and only 13 attorneys are listed. Yet, they want us to believe that they are only "moderate" muslims.

Was it from Pryca (a Spanish chain), for example - or from Safeway?

Pryca! Wow, I used to love that place when I lived over there. They had everything! All sold by attractive girls in skimpy clothes. Que bueno!
