I was wondering did Mr. Lawson of Maryland go (IN PERSON)
to any of the Offices of his U.S. Congressman, U.S. Senators in the State of Maryland to file a complaint.

Think about this for a moment, if Mr. Lawson was really
that concerned, he would of made the effect to go in PERSON
to his/her Congressman/women and BOTH U.S. Senators Offices
to file a complaint, or concern, or seek help,etc...from his federal elected officals, which happens to be DemonRATS
on the U.S. Senate level..

This is a well-plan attack from the RATS and there terrorist friends and CBS.

God, we are in danger of losing this country

So, was Nelson a contractor, or MI Officer? Read the first few paragraphs again. It's very conflicting. Plausible deniability keeps flashing in my head. Congress was saying yesterday: YOU should have told us about this, when it appears they already knew. There's a whole lot more here than meets the eye. I only wonder if we will ever know what it was/is.

Because this is going to go on and on, it seems like these events occurred over a loooooooong period of time, when in fact, it appears that it was a "here and there" thing, and stopped.

They're continuing to investigate to see if there is anything or anyone they missed and to make sure it's not repeated.....exactly what should be done.

Congress it seems, now says, they wanted the report BEFORE the investigation and ignored the Centcom briefings on this.

The bottom line: This was a Military matter amd they DIDN'T want to know early on or this would have been screamed about back in January.

The DEM LEADER, (Hillary) was still publicizing Hillary in January. Now she has a new book and Bubba's book (almost 4 years after leaving office) comes out next month.

Wonder what else the witch bi*** is up to. What's her October surprise??

And was she one of the 17 who received a letter from Lawson?

I know Perot endorsed GW. Sorry,
still don't trust him. He seems
nutty, a loose cannon, sneaky,
secretive, sinister, unstable etc.
And very quiet, lately, I think.

Ex-Army Guard Officer Faces Legal Action for Photos In Iraq

AP

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. A former National Guard commander accused of photographing naked female U.S. soldiers as they showered at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison faces legal proceedings, officials said.

Capt. Leo V. Merck, 32, of Fremont, Calif., allegedly took the photos Nov. 12 and was turned in the next day by the three women.

Merck and the women were part of the 870th Military Police Company of Pittsburg, which patrolled parts of the same prison where other U.S. soldiers photographed their humiliating treatment of naked Iraqi prisoners.

Soldiers from the 870th passed through the Army's Fort Lewis in Washington state last month after leaving Iraq, where they served on active duty for just over a year. Merck has been ordered to return to Fort Lewis to face legal action.

Officials at Fort Lewis said they didn't know his whereabouts. Calls to his home in Fremont were not returned.

A spokeswoman for Merck's local National Guard company said Friday he will face "the process in which soldiers are held accountable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice." She did not say whether Merck would face a court-martial.

Earlier this week, the Contra Costa Times reported that Merck, an accountant in civilian life, had been stripped of his command and could face a dishonorable discharge or court-martial.

I agree. Seems to me the Democrats have no problem risking the lives of our forces in Iraq and even capitualting the WOT as long as their agenda is driven forward.

IMO, the chain of command broke down in Iraq, resulting in unsupervised CIA/MI/MP handling of the captives. Responsibility for this is squarely with Rumsfeld. I don't have a problem with mistreating or even torturing these monsters (who, as non-uniformed combatants can be legally shot on site anyway), but you do this in an adequately secure environment and you don't take photos and pass them around for entertainment.

But as word of the investigation leaked out, the Clintons, McAuliffe, and the senior DNC leadership crafted this to release the news as a "bombshell" to damage the Bush Administration and the Military. That this action could result in the deaths of our soldiers, failure of our mission in Iraq, and defeat in the WOT is of no consequence to these demagogues.

I want this thing pursued.

I want to know who was behind leaking these pictures and I want to watch them dangle from the end of a rope.

The damage that has been done to this country and our military as a result of this just can't be calculated.

Rest assured, this will be pursued.

No ropes will be used, but the unintentended consequences of losing civil control of the military intelligence apparatus in Iraq will reach to the top levels of our government, -- as incompetence in any war always does, one way or another.

That's the way our system works, sports fans.. The buck stops at the white house.

We have been cursed to live in 'interesting times'.
Sit back and try to control your emotions, as the sky will not fall. We are in Iraq for the long haul.

Calling for the hanging of soldiers who 'leaked pictures' is melodramatic, imo.

The leaders of our troops who lost control of MI procedures will pay the political price. Why the big deal?

"HUH? Since when must an officer be there to prevent this? This nephew learned in training, like everyone else, that a prisoner is NOT to be treated like this."

Sgt. Frederick's complaints of ignorance are unbelievable. What makes the matter even more intolerable is that he is a prison guard in civilian life. He allowed the soldiers under his supervision to engage in behavior that has embarrassed our country just for their amusement.

I hope the Army prosecutes Sgt. Frederick for every crime imagineable, and when he is convicted I hope he is given the maximum punishment allowable under the UCMJ.

As far as a breakdown in the chain of command, I hope the Army punishes those who failed to prevent the abuse from occurring as surely as it punishes those who committed the abuse.

With respect to Col. Hackworth, I think this is further proof of his ill-will for the institution of the Army. He will wrap himself in the garb of "protecting" the enlisted man being mistreated by the system. When in fact he made matters worse for the soldiers by ensuring their inexcuseable actions got maximum exposure. Hackworth's only goal is to glorify Hackworth at the expense of the Army.

I would think those soldiers would be trying to hide these photos. I sure would not want proof of rape or murder being circulated to the press. Now let's see how their parents complain they are being mistreated when they are charged with murder and rape.

Again - we are seeing what crawls out from this mess. Looks like it is Hack - a traitor trying to have an effect in this world even if it means it endangers the soldiers protecting him.

Gee - I wonder what he got out of this. I would like to see the money trail. What do you want to bet they were shopping the photos around and the Clintons have funneled the funds through some of their liberal media monsters.

Former military intelligence officer Torin Nelson said in an interview with the Guardian newspaper on Friday many of the detainees at Abu Ghraib were "innocent of any acts against the coalition".

(My Bold)

Sounds like Torin is "a man with a mission". The following appears to be one of Torin's more recent missions.

Yep, chain of command broke down, and a political price will be paid.
But I just don't see where -- "this action could result in the deaths of our soldiers, failure of our mission in Iraq, and defeat in the WOT."

We are in Iraq for the long haul.
That will not change, regardless of who is at the helm of our socalled political 'leadership'.

I don't have time to read this whole thread this morning, so if I am repeating something that has already been discussed, please forgive me.

But, in the digital age, photos, especially newsworthy ones, are instantly relayed around the world, at the speed of light.

Lt. Gen. Lance Smith, deputy commander of forces in the region, testifying Friday before Congress, said he was still unclear how that happened. "It was a surprise that it got out," General Smith said.

Hard for me to believe that he is that naive, ignorant or stupid.

All that leaves is disingenuousness.
