Washington, DC, May. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. authorities have extensively considered the possibility -- or likelihood -- that Israel will attack Iran's nuclear facilities, perhaps this year.
U.S. analysts and government sources said the Bush administration has discussed the prospect of an Israeli air strike in terms of the diplomatic, military and security implications for the United States, particularly its military presence in Iraq and the Persian Gulf region, the Middle East Newsline reported Friday.

My point is that the probablity there will be an Arab war with Israel when Iran gets nukes is the same if Iran's nukes were bombed by Israel.

Eventually the entire world will go against Israel. It's prophecy however when that event happens the Messiah will come and defeat them. I'm not in a hurry to see that happen. There are many unsaved people out there ... and this would be a legitimate trigger for which the Arab world could unite and start these events. It would be unwise for Israel to take this action since they are surrounded by their enemies. Defending themselves against human bombs etc. is one thing but instigating this is another.

In my opinion it will be wise to do this. A Muslim country with nukes with proximity to Israel is a dangerous percendent, and I will expect Israel to act. If it doesn't, Iran will use it in some way, or blackmail Israel. This cannot happen.

Anyway ...

Muslims hate Jews. No doubt about that but begging to be attacked by all is ludicrous. Thankfully Israel is not this foolish. They don't want the consequences that would happen if they did this and the consequences of the fallout from the attack. Killing off a Hamaas (sp) leader who is a terrorist is one thing but this is a whole different ball game.

RE:
"How about this Yonif Israel take care of Iran;
We put screw on Saudis"
Sure... you wanna be paying $2 a LITER of gasoline at the pumps?
If the Saudis didn't have US strapped over the old oil barrel, Yassir Arraflat would have been toast long ago.
The only way Israel is going to get a pass from the White House for the good housecleaning that really needs to be done over there, is if they discover sufficient oil under the dead Sea to substitute for what we currently get from the Saudis.
Bush isn't going to change the Klinton embargo on domestic production or refinement; he's too afraid of the Dems and enviro-nazis.
So we are going to be dependant on MidEast oil for some time to come. But it would be so much better to be dependant on a Country and culture that did not want to enslave or exterminate us, wouldn't it?

"...titanium GPS guided "needle spears" down into the reactor core. They come in virtually undetectable and penetrate deep down into the core, causing a meltdown. Of course the whole mess then has to be cemented over, like Chernobyl, so the spears can never be discovered."
Ahhh... How do you explain the holes through the roof of the containment dome?
And wouldn't lots of radioactive gas escape via those penetrations? Lots of collatteral radiation injury and environmental contamination - may not be all that great an idea, methinks.

RE:
"...if Israel hits the nuke plant, Iran has chemical and biological weapons, which they can load on their missiles."
I opine that it is very well known and understood over there that whatever country uses WMD on Israel, can expect a decicive and catastrophic Nuclear response in short order.
Even Saddam knew that.
Were WMD a viable means to exterminate Israel, I have little doubt that someone would have done it by now.
Up until recently, none of the Islammofacict states were all that intimidated (oh, maybe Libya a little) by the US, and I'm not sure that they are all that much even now. So they may well have calculated that the risk of US intervention or retaliation to an essential extermination of Israel was negligable.
And I'm not so sure that that attitude has changed a lot since we went in to Iraq.
But make no mistake about it; Israel is ultimately going to take care of Israel, because they know they can't always rely on good ol' Uncle Sam to do it for them.
And no one will attack Israel with impunity.
Remember "Never Again!"?
I think they mean it, folks!

Dear A., no offense taken about the biases of exiles. Maybe I wasn't clear in my post. I have actually been to Iran less than two years ago. Everyone we met were rabidly pro-American. My husband got to talking with a little old man who lived in a mud village that could resemble a village from Biblical times, and he took my husband's hands and looked intensely into his face as he said "tell Aga(Mr.) Bush, we don't mean it." My husband assured him that he would pass on the message(as if he could). Also, you are quite right about the scale and costs of any land war with Iran. I just hope that internal pressures, a little covert activity and support for dissidents will lead to the most beneficial outcome of a new secular pro-U.S. government in Iran. The Iranian people despise Europe for kowtowing to the mullahs. At the very least, we should never cut a deal with the current regime.
When I mentioned my father-in-law in my last post I should have made it clear that he still lives in Iran. He was just visiting last month.
A while back, on the nightly Iran threads, a student dissident from Iran was chatting with us and I asked what, if anything they want from the United States. He said all they want from the American people is the reelection of President Bush. So, its not only exiles that love Bush for the way he has made the mullahs wet their dresses.
A few days ago, there was posted an article that was written by the liberal NYT columnist Nicholas Kristoff, who had recently been in Iran. His report completely confirms what I witnessed while there and he states that he believes that democracy may well take hold in Iran before it does in Iraq. You should check it out. It was very uplifting after weeks of bad news coming out of Iraq.
Regards

Yes, that discovery is in progress and will have an incredibly far reaching effect.

I've been suspicious of something going on ever since there were so many reports of "UFO's" being cited over Iran in an alarming rate. A good perspective. I've wondered about that myself. Makes sense. Our new holograph capability ?
