It would be bad enough if done to Americans, but to Moslems...

This is the kind of sentiment I am hearing all over FR since this scandal began. I have never disagreed with my fellow FReepers as much as I have in the past few days.

It was the attitude of the Germans as WWII began, toward the Jews. I wouldn't treat my DOG like that, but to JEWS, it's OK. Why on earth do Muslims deserve bad treatment? Now, if you are talking about criminals or terrorsists, that's one thing. But you think it's OK to be cruel to Muslims. Slippery slope, my man.

NO One in the Military Chain of Command believes this behavior is acceptable, and over and over and over again it has been demonstrated that it is counterproductive, and the troops are educated that it is not to be engaged in.

Unfortunately, there are some Americans who are not so well educated, and even amongst those who are, "in the heat of battle", improper behavior such as this is engaged in. That is why the military has internal procedures for investigation and punishment of this type of thing.

Please ignore those on this board who think this is a useful thing for the military to do to prisoners. They really are ignorant about what the military condones.
