GOOD *MORNING* Pip. :)
(must be a Texas thing) ;O)
Meekie is teasing me!hehe! Hey, I'm just trying to learn the new lingo you're postin' .....
Crazy, man. Crazy.
Jest havin' fun .....
Special good morning to LadyX ... how does it feel, being our star exegenarian on this beautiful day after your birthday? We all think you are MOST wonderful.
Just as well, because it was a wonderfully cool morning, absolutely perfect for my plan to make the annual trek to the nursery 3 miles from town....picked out new kinds of plants for three flower beds.
Since then, have been busy cleaning out said beds and trimming border grass, getting ready for planting after the sun has begun to lower in the west. It will be shadier then, and the plants will benefit from that.
Just had lunch and am taking time to check in here before going on to the Next Project - still to be decided upon from the list of many..... I love this time of year!
Billie, yesterday truly was the best birthday of my life, thanks to everyone here, and I thank you for setting it up..:))
The Finest truly has a Family atmosphere, and we are indebted to you for creating it.
I had written Invictus last night and had a reply this morning!
Will send you by e-mail shortly his address - unchanged, actually, from what it used to be. I know he would be thrilled to hear from you.
Can you believe he cannot see, but can still touch type well?!
He is a remarkable and special person.
Every year within the same week, I benefit from my birthday AND Mother's Day!
The boys know of my flower quests, and right on cue comes the wherewithal from them for indulgence..:))
"Don't send bouquets that wilt, but the means to have them around her until fall and gather bouquets to her heart's content..."
The perfect solution for us all, and I get to decide on the varieties and colors...among my favorites are zinnias I will plant from seeds:
I select varieties that do not exceed 3 feet tall, coming up to the top of the iron railing above the front landing flower bed.
Through the glass storm door, I can watch the hummingbirds flit among the brilliant-colored ones, orange and deep red their favorites...
The long chain goes on unbroken, and invincible - - -
I'm glad you had a great birthday. It sounds like you're having a busy weekend now.Enjoy ! ;^)
Yep! Beautiful day. I did make the mistake of staying and listening to some of the libs in my biulding werte I live at. It was alright as long as they talked about thier families and the flowers and shopping and things like that Buty soon as the subject of Iraq comes up thye show rthier arrigance and ignorance. Someone was saying that OUR people were treating those Iraqi prisoners is that dispicable way. Like as if to say that all our trops over there were engaged in such activities. and not just those few misfits. I tried to contradict her but all she did was accuse me of LOUDTALKING her and told me not everyone's a hero. I said yeah, but not everyone is a villian either! Then to abvoid getting really angry and saying something I would revgret later, I got up and went to my apartment and shut the door (letting it slam) quite "accidently. I HATE LIBERALS!
The actions of a few, Pippin. What those few did does NOT represent the vast overwhelming majority of our good troops who are doing a great job. I'm not sure how this will pan out over there for the troops or over here politically for President Bush, but I'm afraid it may work to put the good guys in more danger. I don't know. But ..... we will win the war, no doubt. From what Rumsfeld said yesterday, the worst of the stuff is yet to come out of this. And the DemocRATS are scum for politicizing this. As I wrote to Laura Bush and Lynn Cheney today, "There used to be a day when criticism of the President stopped at the border. With Republicans that it still true, but with Democrats ..... well, they just don't have any honor or sense of shame anymore."
People like Ted Kennedy, Charles Rangel, Hillary Clinton, selected folks on the 911 Commission et al are politicizing the War effort and bashing the Bush Administration and are putting our troops in harms way. And then try to make it sound like it's all Bush's fault. (Do you know how to tell what the DemocRATS are up to? Watch and listen to see what they are accusing the GOP of doing. Then you will know that is what the DemocRATS are doing).
Well, the DemocRATS lost power in election years 2000 and 2002. They haven't seemed to learn their lesson and I feel confident that Bush will be re-elected by a healthy margin and that the Senate and the House GOP will pick up more seats. Make the 'RATS pay at the polls. (See my tagline!) ......
Good heavens, I wonder if the sites have been flooded with emails?Yeah, I was wondering the same thing, too. I bet so.
Ha ! I just checked. It's working now. Yay !
