Rush and all of us should just ignore any more abuse information.
The MSM is going to continue with this but just change the channel and don't post here any more threads for it.
The Socialist press will only be speaking to the choir anyway.

I don't think they are "Bush haters". I think they are just disappointed and are getting a few things off their collective chests.

Very nicely said at 150. Nice to see some logic on this thread. And a hearty welcome to FreeRepublic...

The only reason this is a hot thread is because Rush is all hot and bothered by Bush's apology.
In the grand scheme of things "I'm sorry" doesn't really mean anything. Now if Bush said "I'm sorry", cut bait, and called the troops home, etc....Now then we'd have something to crow about folks. This is really nothing, just a hill of beans.

I agree Howlin. If our soldiers really did this terrible disservice to humanity, then we should be very sorry. It makes no difference if there are others who have done worse things, and to us.
I'm still wondering if it really happened. Holding out on that, till I hear more details.

I agree with you on that. But this story has always been about two issues - the reality of what happened, and the domestic US politics and motives of the media and the Dems.
Bush needs to speak to both issues - this "apology" may well be appropriate for the first issue, but he should have quickly followed it up by saying "...that said, I caution those at home who want to overplay this issue and damage the US military over it". Something like that is needed.

Stick a fork in him. He's done. Say hello to President Kerry. You remember Hudson in "Aliens"?
Hudson: "Well that's great, that's just f***n' great man, now what the f**k are we supposed to do? We're in some real pretty shit now man... That's it man, game over man, game over, man! Game over! What the f**k are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?"
For God's sake - COWBOY UP!!

I think President Bush would crawl on broken glass, if he thought it would keep the troops safe EXACTLY and that is why he did it ..
The Dems and the lib media/press wouldn't let go and were putting our troops in more danger
Now The Dems don't have an argument about that anymore
However, they'll find something else to *itch about

Haven't read all yet, thanks for the ping.
First reaction was upset that President Bush said he was sorry this happened. A few minutes later, I laughed. Any further clamoring by libs/demsDem's do will be perceived as piling on the troops during these difficult times.
I agree with Glenn's analysis of this. So sorry you had a bad day, sorry she stubbed her toe. It is not "I am sorry" for anything.
I, too, think this was the President's way of short circuiting the media on this. Now they have to run back to DNC to get the new talking points.
I have no doubt that Rummy will handle the inquisitors, who want his head on a pike, with his usual aplomb.

We at the Southern Spectator continue to support the President for now. How nice of you.
Who/what is the Southern Spectator?
To: SandyInSeattle
I am sorry it happened too. Aren't most of you? This is an issue that needs to be addressed. It looks like the day after these reports surfaced, the military started an investigation. The have disciplined those involved, and there is more to follow. What else could they do? This was not a great thing to do, but it is being blown way out of proportion by the dem anti/US groups.
