You have to do what you can to protect yourself and prevent future disturbances. If it were up to me, the prisoners would all be dead. I would do a few things differently.
I would examine the report that was supposedly made by Army officers, saying many there are innocent, and I would weed those out if any turned out to be innocent.
I would then immediately begin hearings against those guilty or considered a threat, and hand out punishments to fit the crime or danger posed by them, upto and including the death penalty.
I certainly would not engage in homosexual conduct or other deviant sexual practices with them, nor would I allow those below me to engage in them.
Finally, I would go back and revisit just what the hell the chain of command was there, find out if/why military personnel were taking orders from civilian contracters (who themselves didn't appear to be under direct supervision). At some point some pretty illegal orders were given and were not questioned.
Along the way I'd find out where their commanders went wrong (things of that scope don't happen unless somebody up the chain, even if only one rung, know). I'd also find out why some of those people were "guarding" prisoners, when they were clearly not fit to fill that capacity.
shame on all of you! you don't know lynndie like I do and she's a kind and wonderful person and this type of thing is totally out of character for her.
Lynndie and i were close since i moved to fort ashby when i was in third grade. loved by all who knew her, i first met her as she played alone in the corner of the playground burning ants with a magnifying glass, impaling japanese beetles on rose thorns, or digging into semi-healed wounds in her arms with broken glass. She and i became fast friends and we'd while the summer afternoons away pulling the legs off grasshoppers or throwing rocks at racoons by the lake.
lynndie was always a natural leader, forming the Robert Byrd High School S & M club. her natural magnitism was obvious as she strolled down the hallways in spiked hip boots, fishnet stockings, a PVC thong, bustier, and a choker collar, which was her standard garb.
lynndie joined the army in the hopes of raising enough money to open her own dominatrix business. fort ashby is an economically depressed area and people here need to travel all the way to Charleston for a professionally delivered paddling or english canning. In fact, the only rack in the entire county is privately owned and cat-o-nine-tails are only available by mail order.
When i saw the photos from iraq, i was absolutely stunned. in fact, i'm sure the photos are either staged or she was doing this under direct orders from someone else. a dog leash is so amature, she went beyond that type of stuff in the sixth grade. now, an iraqi being suspended by his testicles with lynndie laying into him with a tawse and coating his nipples with hot candle wax, that I'd believe.
lyndie is a wonderful person and when the truth comes out, you'll all have egg on your faces for talking negatively about her.
