"I was in the wrong place at the wrong time"Appearing in the background while you're walking by is being "in the wrong place at the wrong time", honey.

I agree. Our reserves should be used strictly on American soil. Border control and disaster reliefe seem like a good role for them.

I ran out of gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! It wasn't my fault, I swear to God!

. . . how the h--- did the military let women soldiers have anything to do with male prisoners? One of the untold stories of this war is that the U.S. military is so desperately short on qualified males that we are using female soldiers for duties that they never would have been used for even ten years ago.

The way the parents excuse this behavior shows how she was brought up.

I don't have pity for people like this.
Pity has nothing to do with it. WE are better than this. As I have stated on other posts, we don't judge our behavior to those of our enemy, we judge our behavior by OUR standards.
It is illegal as determined by OUR civilian leaders who our military answers to.
Right or wrong, it is STUPID! It places our guys in more danger by inflaming the population unnecessarily.
To: cripplecreek
We will have some reserves usage, but it should not be to the extent that it is currently utilized.
The social promotions issue is huge. My dad got out of the US air force because of lack of discipline in the late 60s.
The Clintons have hosed us good and Rummy gets the fall.
What BS.
Can you image the cries of 'discrimination' if there were a crackdown on pregnancies and the lack of discipline.

right- I said "probably"... meaning likely - not surely.
but of course she shouldn't have been theree- and i'll also say the behaiour shouldn't have taken place.
i only make reference to the human shredding to compare leashing to shredding. both bad, one deadly.

I find it's very telling that most of the smiling soldiers in the pictures we have seen so far are women. I am female, but I strongly believe that women should not be in any sort of military capacity other than maybe administrative work. The presence of a few women in an otherwise all-male unit instantly creates sexual tension, simply by way of their being present. The mindset that is created produces this sort of unprofessional and obscene action.

" It wasn't my fault, I swear to God!"She's a 21 y/o private. I'm sure the Army recognizes that there's a leadership problem here. It's unlikely this girl was, or even had the capacity to influence and direct that circus.

Oh, great. Just great.
When I first heard of this, I didn't think it was a big thing, just a bunch of prisoners in a line, naked. Then I saw the other photos, and now this disgusting snapshot.
This dork (how apropos she's one of Senator KKK Byrd's constituents) needs to be run out of the military so fast it makes her pin head swim.
To: dead
I wil be concerned when they show them hanging their bodies charred, mutilated from a bridge. Til then, carry on.
To: spunkets
Well, according to the military, it is the fault of this soldier's leadership that she participated in this. Yes, she made a very bad choice and did something very stupid. But if a soldier is a screw-up, she is a screw-up because her leadership let her down.

So what are the Arabs going to do in retaliation? Blow up the World Trade Center or the Pentagon with airliners full of innocent - Oh, they already did that, didn't they?
Wake up! We need to torture these people for about twenty years so THEY WILL FEAR US. They will never love us, much less respect us.
Take a lesson from WWII. If we hadn't had Patton telling his troops to "take no prisoners," we'd all be speaking German now.
Nobility is a luxury we can't afford. We are at WAR.
