[history]
AR-RAMADI, Iraq.
Three weeks ago, Andy Rooney, a syndicated newspaper columnist and commentator for CBS News' "60 Minutes," wrote a column titled, "Our soldiers in Iraq aren't heroes."
Mr. Rooney is part of a team of CBS News "journalists" who, especially over the past few weeks, have gone out of their way to protest administration policies in Iraq and the War on Terror. Interviews with former White House adviser Richard Clarke and The Washington Post's editor Bob Woodward to promote their respective books were only forums to condemn and criticize President Bush and the Iraq war. While unfair and disappointing, such bitter behavior is expected from those long openly contemptuous of this president.

I LOVE Ollie North!! The Rooney's, Conkrites, Jennings, etc., etc. may "think" they are still in charge - but as long as we have people like Ollie North, their lies and anti-America attitudes will be exposed.

Look for a reply from Andy Looney. I believe he writes under the pen name of Rene Gonzalez.

i've been thinking lately that Americans like Rooney, Rather et al don't deserve to have the protection of our troops. Maybe we should just bring them home and fight it out here at home. Just like the people of Europe found out when the Nazi's came marching through......there was their next door neighbor waving the Nazi flag. It's probably shocking how many of our neighbors actually hope we lose this WAR.

Mr. Rooneys wife died the other day. It is hard not to gloat and be abusive towards him. I'm sorry for his and his familys loss.
If she wants to spend eternityy with Mr. Rooney though she is waiting for him in hell cause if she went to heaven she surely will be alone.

It must be sad for someone who has been in the media for decades, to be approaching the end of his broadcasting career, and realize his major claim to fame is a brief, (sometimes) mildly humorous closer segment about some whimsical or vaguely perplexing aspect of American society. It is understandable for Rooney to try to recast himself as some steely-eyed (bushy-browed) editorialist with incisive insights and pithy comments, charging out to sound the alarm and rally support for a noble cause.
Hope the windmills treat him gently.

Give em hell, Ollie-who I view as a hero as well.

I think it is long past bedtime for some of these old coots like Rooney, Rather, Jennings, and Brokaw. They need to go to the old coots home and be joined by people like Senators Byrd, Spectre, Kennedy, and Lautenbergo. Put them all in a room and let them puff and coot all day long, then go to bed with their milk and cookies, or their scotch and codeine. Coot, coot, coot, squawks Kennedy. Coot, coot, coot, squawks back Rooney.

"But for Mr. Rooney to sit atop his Ivory Tower in New York City, where this War on Terror began, attack our young men and women in uniform, and essentially question their patriotism, is about as low as it gets."
- I could NOT agree more. Whatever happened to people talking about subjects they were WELL INFORMED about.... it seems so very long since we had news like that....
I would have to say that Mr. Rooney's assertion was more unpatriotic than any of our soldiers actions over there - risking life and limb for their country while Rooney doesn't even risk his tongue.

Will somebody inform Mr Rooney he too has passed? Time to lay down Andy-boy...

The left is going for broke.
Terrorists have shown the world that peace is not the answer. Today we need overwhelming force in generous quantities.
So the RATs are desperate, haven't had control in 10 years, are led by an aged-out fleet of fat, drunk, stupid, arrogant, self-centered bazturds, and their protege are vicious, America hating communist OneWorld types as seen by the posts at the DUfus site.
Not a good vision for the future for the RAT party.

Don't worry. When their time is up and they come home, they'll be plenty of soldiers only too willing to "educate" the whining nitwits here at home:)

Ollie has really hit his stride with Fox. IMHO Andy is way past due for retirement and maybe a nursing home.

A little of topic, but did you know that John Kerry voted AGAINST reinstating Col. North's pension after the Iran Contra hearings.

Mr. Rooneys wife died the other dayI have buried three Kentucky Guardsmen since 11 SEP 01.
I knew them. I didn't know Rooney, nor would I care to.
He shows no sympathy for my brethren under arms. I shall show none for him.
