Nice post, newbie. ;-D
This article brings out some of my concerns about a Kerry candidacy. I'm actually expecting him to withdraw, citing health concerns, to leave the field open for dems to find a more electable, less "nuanced" guy. He could actually do this all the way up to election day.

Equally troubling, but virtually unnoted, is the Senator’s failure to release his medical records. Keep in mind, that Senator Kerry is a cancer survivor, having emerged from surgery to remove a cancerous prostate early last year. His surgeon has spoken publicly about the case, assuring the public that the operation went well, that the cancer had not spread, and that there is nothing to worry about. I think there is (at present) no reason to expect a reoccurrance of the cancer. It's pretty certain Hillary has carefully assessed Kerry's medical records. So if he goes into the election with a VP candidate never married to a former President, his survival chances look good.

Kerry could have been rendered impotent and incontinent from the surgery, and that wouldn't play well on the world stage.
