Thanks for posting this review. Hamilton's likeness is not on our "Ten Spot" for nothing. The best quote I have found in the two bios I have of Hamilton is:"...praise is due Alexander Hamilton for making Americas I.O.U's worth something, in effect converting them into capital, thus injecting badly needed liquidity into a backwater society that was post revolution America. Hamilton, for all his faults is one of the "Providential Persons" that the founding of this country could not have done without.

Sounds fascinating, but if someone isn't ready to commit to 800 plus pages, I can highly recommend:
"Hamilton's Blessing: The Extraordinary Life and Times of Our National Debt"
by John Steele Gordon (1997)
It is a concise 200 pages.
Lots available on Amazon.
