new jersey and snow so cold you can't breath states, this must be a very interesting set of rules. The states of Wash, Colorado and Oregon are at least pretty compared to Iowa and New Jersey. This survey is like love it is in the eyes of the beholder.

I was born in Alabama and have lived in 10 different states. New Jersey was one of my favorites. It is really beautiful there. I lived in one of the westernmost counties, and when I drove the back roads, I wanted to stop at every curve in the road to take a picture. Country beauty, and yet only an hour to New York City. We had great health care and little or no crime. The only negative, and it is a big one, you can't afford to retire there.

Have you actually been to New Jersey ? Most of it is actually very nice, much different from how it is portrayed by the media. It is also the 2nd richest state (per capita income) in the entire United States. If I recall correctly, 3 of the top 10 wealthiest US counties are in NJ. Overall, it has one of the best education systems in the country. I live there now and like all places it has drawbacks, it is very expensive to live here but it is far, far better than many other places I have been.
