I was born in Alabama and have lived in 10 different states. New Jersey was one of my favorites. It is really beautiful there. I lived in one of the westernmost counties, and when I drove the back roads, I wanted to stop at every curve in the road to take a picture. Country beauty, and yet only an hour to New York City. We had great health care and little or no crime. The only negative, and it is a big one, you can't afford to retire there.

and it is a big one, you can't afford to retire there. I was born in Washington, raised and worked in CA with a little TX thrown in for good measure. I am retired to AL and am happy it does not rate higher. If the rating keeps the liberal rift raft out then it is serving its purpose. BTW had a friend move to New Hampshire, his wife had him sell and move after one winter.

I grew up there 5 minutes away from Round Valley reservoir, probably my favorite place on earth. Though that place is changing fast for the worse with hordes of immigrants pouring in. Much of the forests and farmlands are gone replaced with housing developments.
